Hey there!

So during the Halloween event I opened a Black Lion Chest with a key I got as a quest reward, and I got a “Greatsaw Greatsword” weapon skin token.

I love Greatswords, and I like the skin a lot, but I’m not really quite sure how weapon skins in this game work… and I don’t want to waste the token.

When I use the token I assume it’ll open a window similar to the Transmutation windows, allowing me to choose a Greatsword for the skin to be applied to. After I choose a Greatsword for the skin, do I keep the token and use the token to apply the skin to future Greatswords? If not, do I have to use the original sword I applied the skin to as a base to apply the skin to future swords? Or is the skin a one-time use that I’ll only be able to apply to one item that I should save until max level?

And does applying a skin like this soulbind an item, or can I use the skin for weapons on multiple characters?

The skin is a 1-use item that opens a transmutation window allowing you to apply it.

Then, you need to use transmutation stones to get the skin onto future great swords.

I would sell it. It’s listed for 60-70g on the TP iirc

the mechanic of applying the skin works like a transmutation but not sure if the after effects are. i only say this because i crafted an exotic dagger to give to someone, and i was able to “Mail to…” but i decided to tramsuate another look onto it, and after i did so, the item says “Transmuted” and i was unable to mail it anymore. so i’m assuming even transmutating items is considered using it? in other words, i transmuted two soulbind on use items together, aaaaaaand then it became soulbound.

maybe someone else can confirm.

and i believe the skin is a one-time use. so there’s no way you can replicate it. what you CAN do perhaps is if you want another character to be able to use it, you can transmuate it to a white / blue item (which are never soulbound) and then even though it will still say soulbound, it actually becomes account bound.
i.e. you can keep transferring the same skin using transmutation stones.

haven’t tried this personaly but many have confirmed for it to work.
