Does anyone know if there is a website where you can create a character and then do outfit/weapon designs?

Sadly, not that I’m aware of.

But I don’t know if any place where you can actually try on armor and weapon sets on a character model.

If you see armor or weapon pieces you like, you can search the GW2 Wiki (or google for other websites) that have the in game code for them that looks something like [&AgELRgAA]. Take that, log into a character in the game, and paste it in party chat or whisper it to yourself. That’ll create a chat link where you can right click and preview. You can also preview from the TP and merchants. That’s the best I know of for messing around with looks for armor and weapons.

It’ll show you all the available armors and you can copy the code directly from there to preview in game. There’s also a weapon gallery, but personally I prefer dulfy’s for that because it also includes where to get it and whether it’s animated or not.

These days you don’t even need an external site. Just go to your bank and open the wardrobe tab to test out all the armors and weapons. Use the TP to pick out some dyes you want to try if you don’t like how the preview uses your current dye set.

That does mean actually using a character slot to make the alt to test the looks on, but if you don’t like the result you can delete the alt without any resources invested but a bit of time.
