Guild Wars 2

I am looking to do something I usually do in WoW. In WoW, I usually create a character that is a zone explorer whose goal is to not kill a single thing. I usually make this character a healer type, and I would run around and heal people.

Crafting/Mining/Exploration/Jumping Puzzle is obvious the way to level up a character of this type, but I am unsure which class/race combination has the best defensive setup. I like Engineers for their Support powers, and it might be possible to lvl up a Pacifist using an Engineer with Sheild and something with Healing and Net Turrets, with the Barrage Support packages. I’m not sure if that’s the best option though, and I don’t know which racials are the best for this kind of build outside of humans.

I am looking for opinions, though, on what you would consider the ideal pacifist build?

Engineers and Elementalists are your best bet. Both have healing and support facilities which deal little or no damage. Engineer has more control abilities, while Elementalist has more escape and protection abilities.

It should be noted that support gets almost no recognition in gw2. Giving boons, healing, condition removal, etc. Unless something changed in a patch, none of it counts towards your participation in events. Reviving downed players counts, and dealing damage counts. But between the two, you’re not going to get a whole lot of recognition for playing a pure pacifist.

That’s fine. The Pacifist needs no outside recognition. Advancing without loss of life is reward enough.

FYI, there are some renowned heart quests & dynamic events that do not require killing, such as gathering specific component & equipment repairs, and you will still get experience, karma & some monetary rewards.

Lore wise, Sylvari are the hippies among the 5 races, so having a Sylvari pacifist is very believable.

Profession wise, since the holy trinity does not exist in GW2, every job can be tuned for support/healing role. Just find one profession whose job description fits into the storyline you have for your toon.
