I want to avoid a profession that will be experiencing nerfs significant enough to change the whole playstyle or alter the class.

Is there any class that is safe from the nerfbat? I hear Warriors and Thieves are good because they’re the balance devs’ pet classes. Also Ranger is pretty terrible so perhaps that would be a good class to pick.

Nice to know that to enjoy the game I have to purposefully select the worst class(es) to avoid entire playstyle changes.

Personally as an ele I don’t really think the new updates warrant an entirely new play style, you only need to work around it. If the class you “need” to choose to enjoy it, is the worst then you’re not enjoying it surely? There will always be nerfs and buffs, and no you don’t always want the op classes to be nerfed but sometimes it just has to be done. Granted there are sometimes better ways to go about it, but it’s just the way of any MMO. No class will ever be “safe”, some nerfs/buffs will come before others but only because the results need to be tested.

If you want to play Thief be ready to change your playstyle every month.

Um elementalist wasn’t hit that hard. I still play mine the same way. But yes, warrior is virtually nerf-proof.

imo create one finish the starting story line, and go directly to PVP so you can see all your skills. Every class got their charm, and no one knows your playing style.
