I power leveled up to level 26 by just doing story quests until I couldn’t do the next one higher up. In between these quests, what are you guys doing to level to the next needed level?

100%’ing each area. Like doing all the tasks, doing all the skill point challenges, and finding the POI/Waypoints.

I try to explore a lot, and do all the heart quests in a zone that’s appropriate to my level. I don’t usually chase 100% map completion, because I want to have something to do at max level.

The best way to get xp I’ve found is working up crafts. Say for armoursmithing, I need jute and copper. So I’ll go to the starting zone, and run around the edge killing mobs, mining ore, chopping down trees, picking up vegetables and killing any humanoid mobs I see. Along the way, I’ll do any events that happen near me.

By the time I do a full lap, I head back to down and craft up with all my mats. I usually get 2 levels by doing this.

I for most of the levels between 56 and 80, I did crafting. It was very quick. Up to that point I was doing mostly heart quests and a few trips into wvw.

Do everything

Every zone has a massive number of things you can do to level, and you can do all/some of them, whatever takes your fancy. I’m a sucker for that lovely chest of goodies you get when completing a zone, so I 100% zones. That said, you can do otherwise and have just as much fun.

I am trying to do this also, however I have found that getting the starting areas out of the way do level you quick with a nice reward upon completion.

This plus a little WvWvW always helps. I hit lvl49 a little while ago.

I love just wandering around and finding events. Either to start one or finish, I love to find them all.

The chained events that lead to world bosses rock.

Next thing I know, I have all the hearts filled, and pretty much all the POI’s. And since you get some pretty good xp, coin, and items for zone completion… might as well.

Then I found some pretty cool mario puzzles that didn’t require Super-Mario-Like abilities.. I got some good xp and .. well usually junk in the chest.. but the achievements are good enough.

My friend keeps trying to play this game like WoW, WAR, LotRO.. you name it… he MUST go to the next zone when he “levels over” the zone he’s in. He MUST do his storyline…

He’s 18, and I’m 75. My storyline’s at 64… Go figure.

I appear to be different but maybe because I am only lvl 16. I find I HAVE to go to other zones as I can’t finish the map as some of the skill and story quests are too hard. I therefore have to go to other races zones and do their map also.

To me this is a flaw in the game, you should be able to stay within your zone and be able to lvl with 100% map completion.

I’ll hit 80 soon this week…

My two crafting disciplines have netted me at least 15 levels (not free), maybe five or so from personal story quests, I completed three zones but mostly stuck to running around exploring, doing events and gathering from nodes.

A little bit of everything PvE.

Crafting will net you 10 levels, so you can get an 80 if you max out all crafts. But that is an expensive way to level.

You can get 10 levels for less than 1gold if you follow the recent 0-400 guide, but i recommend saying that for like 50+. Jewelery is also easy one.

Outside of that if you dont craft then you do everything in a map, events are best, find some you can port between really fast while its cheap (as at high level porting is very expensive). There are a few events that you can chain to get 40-80 in about 15hrs playtime

Do everything but, I guess, things like Dynamic Events will really help.

Bought the book – set me back $26.00 – I would recommend it to everyone and get on you-tube and watch DONTAINe – very informative on crafting at higher-levels.
