I’ve read a lot of builds saying condition damage doesn’t scale and it’s not reliable. I can understand maybe for some classes like ranger or thief or warrior you’re better off going full crit but I have a lvl 80 guardian and I have a decent amount of condition damage.

Do you think it’s a trait worth having for PvP/PvE for any class? Or maybe it’s a trait not worth investing into?

Seems to me that condition damage is less effective than it was in the original. Actually, let me rephrase that: I think the conditions overall are somewhat less effective. Blindness, for instance, which used to cause a 50% miss chance over a certain amount of time, now causes only one miss on one attack; still works, but not quite like the old days.
I have a guardian as well and the burning is nice, although I did spend a major trait on the extra damage vs burning foes, mainly just to satisfy myself.
All in all I would have to say that I believe the conditions have been nerfed somewhat, although I’m not sure nerfed is the right term. I played a necro during the bwe’s and I know that her conditions seemed to be much weaker than what I was expecting and what I was able to do in GW 1.

I have a crit burn guardian too and my armor has power, precision, condition damage and vitality. I have all the traits invested on burning foes and doing more damage to foes on fire and it works well for me in PvP and WvW. It just seems like not many people like to invest into the trait.

I have a condition necro and it really doesn’t let you crank out anywhere near as much damage as you would think. Im not saying its bad dmg but it seems lack luster.

I like playing Condition Damage because people generally don’t know what hit them. :P But I read somewhere that it’s only around after 8 seconds that CD takes over from raw Power in a fight. If bleed/poison/burn could crit I think it would be more worthwhile.

I was enjoying my bleed-build necromancer right up until I tried to do a raid event and realized that it was totally worthless in group fights. The 25 bleed cap meant that none of my bleeds were landing on the boss and I ended up only getting a bronze medal.

Doors, gates, whatver, all those objects you need to destroy tend to get annoying cause condition damage dealers do ofc deal less white hit damage so they take more time for those objectives.

At the moment I’m liking my condition damage on guardian just because I do extra damage to burning foes but I’ll probably change it later. The game is still new so it shouldn’t be a huge deal.

For the most part though doesn’t seem like condition damage is superior on anyone.

Condition builds tend to be very good in 1v1 PvP.

I like it for my lone ranger solo exploration character. I choose differently for my team build characters.
