Q:
What armor did you wear? (Light Armor)
A:
On all my characters I’m just wearing whatever drops have the best stats, or whatever I happen to craft until I’m higher level. No one putting too much effort/money/karma into it when you’ll be changing it every few levels anyway.
Although I suspect for my ele I’m eventually going to be going for the skimpiest outfit I can find because she’s a sylvari and I love the bioluminescence effect, especially on the lower back.

Yeah, student armor isn’t so amazing. I ended up wearing/transmuting the Dry Bones armor you can get from karma vendors until I could craft Acolyte’s armor with cotton.
I normally don’t really care bout my characters look untill level 35. I normally start with the HoM armorskin and round level 35 I start looking for a different skin within my reach.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
I used a combination of several sets:
- Student head piece, gloves and boots (tier 2 crafted armor)
- Embroidered chest piece (tier 1 crafted armor)
- Apprentice leggings (from any basic armor merchant)
Also, technically Student shoulders, but I hide the shoulder armor.

My female Necro actually wears Student armor, i like it.
For my male Ele i use an available master version armor set .
And then use Transmutations Stones to put the Apprentice armor skin on boots, legs, coat and headgear. The shoulders i hide.

I’m wearing the lvl 10 crafted light armor and transmuting it. I like it better than most drops.

I have two Sylvari that wear light armor (elementalist and mesmer) and this is the approach I took, for the same reason. My elementalist is wearing the crafted Winged set (from 250 tailoring or so), and my mesmer is wearing the Feathered (300 tailoring) set.
My human necromancer is wearing a mix of armors. I got the Order of Whispers leggings, top from karma vendor at Fort Salma in Kessex hills, boots from crafted tailoring (winged set), and gloves are just the lowest level crafted pair of gloves. Description for my necromancer is harder than just the image: http://i.imgur.com/WwTV0.jpg
I originally was hesitant to start transmuting armor so low — my characters are typically ranging from 30-45 (roughly) so there’s going to be definite armor replacement. But I have also been doing a lot of map completion, so the basic transmutation stones are coming around fairly quickly. I’m really pleased with how my characters look, though of course I may change appearance slightly as I progress.
Armorsmith [Merchant] every 5 levels. All the way to 80.
Now i roll T3 Human, until i get my karma set for d/d setup
