What exactly can a Follower see? More specifically, can someone who follows you view the name of the character you’re playing?

What’s a Follower?

The easiest way for you to learn the answer is to go in game and open your Friends list and look at what you see.

I just did that. You get a colored box saying if someone is online, afk, or offline, their current character name in white, and their account name (without the 4 numbers) in grey, followed by their AP total in white. You can edit the account name into any note you like to explain to yourself who this person is.

Weirdly enough some of my friends I can see where they currently are and what profession/level they are…
Yet some are just a simple status, character name, account name, ap.

You can see all of that, including their profession and level, if they list you as a friend as well. If they don’t, you are on their follower list – and can only see the simple information.

Not ingame to double check the exact info right now though.

EDIT: So if you want to see, add a random person, maybe a commander in WvW, as a friend. Hover over that to see what information a follower can see.

I only have like 2people that i’ve friended that haven’t friended me i guess haha, but then again i followed them because their well known people that i can ask questions.
