What class is best for ignoring trashmobs in orr?
I have a Thief that’s invested in Shadow Arts and Acrobatics. I have swiftness up 80% of the time, SoS the other 20% of the time and blind on stealth. Hit C+D on mobs that get close and a second extra in stealth = waltz past with no problems. Blinding Powder if they use range, Shadow Refuge for stacking stealth to run past bigger groups. Not even a slight challenge to get around Orr.
One of my friends is a Guardian and he seems to have little problems when going around with me. I think it may be the constant Aegis that helps him out the most (the block won’t initiate combat).
Resident Thief
I do it with ele just fine. Ride the lightning, lightning flash, mist form, armor of earth. 3 Stunbreaks, 1 of which makes you invulnerable for mining, and a pretty large speedboost. Chain that with updraft for swiftness on the go, and you’re zipping around orr no problem.
Also spec into water so you can remove 2 conditions every 10 seconds by pressing f2 and then rolling forward. It helps.
Guardians are pretty good at running Orr. They have many skills that grant stability which prevents CC from annoying enemies like the Purifiers and Acolytes, and if you do have to stand and fight you can easily handle 4-5 Risen without breaking a sweat. Also as mentioned Aegis is a lifesaver, it can prevent combat long enough to commune with a skill point or get that ori ore before you get ganked.
Blackgate
Other than the mobs that throw that axe and pulls you toward them I can just run through them. I am just a poor little ol’ engineer with perma swiftness and a healing kit
Weirdly enough I think what they throw is an anchor. One by itself is usually dodgeable though, except when it fires later than expected or just… idk… hits mid roll somehow. More annoying is when there’s a few of them, or some spiders as well. Yay mob density!
I actually use an engineer sometimes too, but while they never really stop me, I get hit by enough things that it’s slow going. Plus I have to use more skills for the same effect (a stunbreaker + condition removal, as opposed to say ‘shake it off’ which is both). There’s rocket boots I guess, but… well… flying off backwards into Orr is unlikely to improve my situation.
I think any class spec’d for tankiness will be able to breeze through orr with little problems. Imo so long as you don’t die to 3-5 hits you’ll be fine :P
My necro can run around easily in Orr. I don’t have minions out either as they cause more problems.
They only annoying ones are the one that pull you to them.
