Just bought the game, waiting for it to install. What class is the most fun to play? I realize skill/talent is the most important factor in determining how good a player is, but in my experience with SWTOR, some classes were much easier to play than others. I pvp a lot but also like to pve from time to time. In TOR I played a lot of sentinel (arguably the hardest pvp class) and a lot of sorcerer (arguably the easiest pvp class) and found sentinel a lot more fun. As much fun as it is facerolling people with the FOTM class/build, it’s a lot more satisfying outplaying someone while playing a more difficult class. Are the classes fairly balanced in this game? What class has the hardest rotation to master? I realize this is a nub question, but if you’re going to respond with some bs like “use the search engine” don’t waste your time posting.

Most fun is a very subjective thing. A profession one person hates will be another’s one and only love. I could write a lot of my subjective opinions on the professions but it would be as a PvE person who barely even does WvW, let alone sPvP.

My impression from reading forums, though, is that thieves and necromancers properly built and played are very strong in PvP.

I’d bet that elementalist would be the hardest to master in any environment, as each weapon set gives you 20 skills you can keep dancing between (5 for each of 4 element attunements) and you are stuck with the weapon set you have while in combat. Plus they are pretty much the squishiest profession. One of my first five alts was an ele and I let her languish at level 30 for a couple of years. Now my only sub-80 is an ele I made as an RP shill and I’ve been dagger/dagger leveling him and finding it much more fun since I know what the heck I’m doing in the game.

Mesmer could also be something you end up liking for complexity once leveled and traited, I know I have a blast with it and I don’t even know how to mimic my clones to help befuddle opponents as to which one is really me.

I don’t think anyone can tell you definitively which is the most fun as it’s extremely subjective.

My husband and my friend love playing mesmers, I think they’re ok but nothing special. I love playing ranger, elementalist and engineer (in that order) and other people hate all 3.

If you like professions that are more challenging to master I’d recommend checking out any of the casters (necro, elementalist and Mesmer) and engineer, and staying away from warrior and guardian as they’re generally considered easier.

But your experience may be completely different, you may find you love playing a warrior, you won’t know until you try.

Easy to learn classes: Guardian, warrior, ranger
Hard to learn classes: Engineer, Elementalist, Mesmer, Theif. I’d say of those Engineer is hardest, they have the hardest rotations and combo’s to master in my opinion.
Most versatile classes: Engineer, Elementalist
What I find most fun personally: Engineer, Elementalist. They can do EVERYTHING. I find myself missing things on other classes. They have more skills than others (others get rougly 10-15 to use at once, Ele and Engi get rougly 25 not counting conjures).
