So I’m done playing dressup with my lvl 80 Warrior, and I am bored of my Engineer.

What class should I play next? I honestly cannot decide.

I like being able to deal very high damage while supporting my team. I am a dungeon player, so I need survivability as well. I also like playing with my traits to create a variety of cool builds which change my gameplay.

But since I’m tired of Warrior, what class do you recommend? Note that this is from an endgame perspective, so I will be 100%ing a lot of maps and doing a lot of dungeons to level up.

I’ve tried Guardian up to level 14 but I am a little nervous about it that it does not provide interesting enough DPS or trait options.

The Guardian isn’t so much about DPS as it is about survivability and utility. There are a few builds that favor DPS (burning), but most will trade Warrior-esque DPS for a fair bit of control and healing/condition removal. If your going to focus on DPS, then a Elementalist or Thief might be up your alley as they have traits for both DPS focus or more support-y type builds.

Hope my 2 copper helped a bit.

I would second Thief and Elementalist or maybe try a Necro.

An elementalist (which is my main) can be either DPS or support as well, but if you spec for offense then you will go down in two hits in a dungeon if you aren’t very careful about your positioning. Or you spec for defense and your DPS may not be quite what you want it to be.

Thieves can be very effective in dungeons. Haven’t tried mine in a dungeon yet, but those that I’ve played with can do some serious damage without crumpling in melee.

I haven’t played a necro, and their pets are more or less useless in dungeons, but some of the condition builds out there just look nasty.

Try the thief. They can put out awesome damage.

80 Guardian. 80 Warrior. 80 Thief. 80 Engineer. 80 Necromancer. 80 Ranger.

What can a Thief due in terms of support? I’m very divided whether or not to go Thief because Cluster Shot (Bow #2) feels just pain weird, and in general it just feels very weird all around. Any notable traits as well?

Also, is the Ele really a bad option if I spec a hybrid between offense and toughness? I come from playing Warrior, so I am not sure how I should be equipping a squishy.. I assume Power+Tough+Vitality but I am concerned about losing out on precision and critical damage all around. What about Power+Toughness+ Healing power on an Elementalist?

Well…thieves have a few support methods.

They can share their venoms to party members
They can create shadow fields which blind enemies
They can cash an AoE stealth allowing stealth razzes in boss fights (stealth drops aggro on you)
They’re very good at keeping blind up a lot by themselves

I would never play an ele as it is now, but others swear by them. I can’t offer any advice other then you’ll die a lot and do damage very slow compared to other classes unless you stance dance a TON.

80 Guardian. 80 Warrior. 80 Thief. 80 Engineer. 80 Necromancer. 80 Ranger.
