Q:
What do I do with Trophies?
A:
Some can be turned in for quests I believe. Others are just vendor trash. As far as I can tell at least.
Exactly, your [White] Trophies are Task/Heart hand ins. Your [Grey] Trophies are vendor trash
Some trophies are items that you have collected for an event or a renown heart.
They are simply something you forgot to hand in, and you can destroy them without worrying about it.

And, if it says Salvageable Trophy, you can use a kit on them to get crafting mats(one of the few ways to get cloth scraps). Don’t sell those ones.
It’d be nice if non-vendorable trophies would auto-delete once you’ve completed the quest.

Oh god, don’t tell me this now…

just save them and use the next time you do that event

It’s not a huge deal since the trading post is now functioning and you can essentially get all crafting mats for at or below cost. But yeah.

Huh… I’m talking about the little gold heart quests. You don’t ever do those again.
Thanks for the info. I didn’t want to keep playing and find out I need them for turn ins or crafting somewhere down the line.
There are some that say so and so would be interested in these. So I’m saving those until I come across these characters.

It’s is likely that you’ve already come across those characters as they are related to the area you found them.
If you turn in while doing heart quests, they add to the completion. If you’ve completed them and turn them in, you get nothing. From my experience.
Some of the trophies can be sold on the Trading Post. I’m not sure if they’re needed in crafting for some people or what, but there are always orders up for some of them so check that out before vendoring them.
First thing you should do when you meet an NPC trader should be to go to his/her sell tab and click the Sell Junk button. This will take care of the absolutely worthless (grey) items. Then you can worry about whatever remains in your inventory. If there are any trophies left, most likely they will have ‘Salvageable’ mentioned in their tooltip. So, salvage those. If there are other ones left, they might say something else, like ‘NPC X collects these’. Last part is from memory only. It might not be entirely true.
Just for gits and shiggles, I have been saving my dandelions for future wine making! Once I get a full stack I’ll stop. Ya never know…

Mmmmmm …. dandelion wine.
Seriously, though … if you can salvage it, then you can use in crafting, and even if you don’t happen to be into that, then I assure you .. many others are, and are willing to pay for stuff (keeps them from having to farm up stuff themselves). So get in the habit of getting and keeping salvage kits on you. You can sell on trading post for a nice profit & get something worthwhile.
