While leveling I randomly picked up some Aether Key Pieces which I turned into an Aether Key. It says I can use it on Aether Chests in some place called Twilight Arbor but I don’t know where that is. I checked the wiki article on the keys but it didn’t have any more information than the item tooltip.

Can someone fill me in on what these keys are all about?

The current patch brought a new explorable path in the Twilight Arbor dungeon located in Caledon Forest. After you finish the dungeon there are 5 hidden chests and an achievement to unlock them.

It’s a level 80 explorable* path in the dungeon in NW Caledon, but will be there permanently so you can keep 5 keys aside for the achieve to do one day. The pieces will continue to drop in Maguuma and … another zone I forget … once the event is over. Right now they drop all over.

• dungeons have story and explorable modes. Story is a linked series of missions involving Destiny’s Edge, and to open an explorable path (which is 5 levels harder content) you must have done that dungeon’s story on that alt. You can join someone else’s explorable, though, so you can be in a group in it so long as one party member has unlocked it.

They will continue to drop in the “Tarnished Coast and Steamspur Mountains”. The more practical answer is “anywhere that the various Maguuman dailies can be done”.
