I have had this problem for years. Today I tried to search “traps” in the Guardian forum and it told me that didn’t match anything. What am I not understanding about search on this forum?

Short version: It’s just broken. You’re better off searching google for the topic you’re looking for, combined with the word forum.

There’s nothing to understand. Its completely broken. The forum posters know it and Anet themselves know it and have readily admitted it, but said that because of the forum infrastructure its too much effort to fix.

There’s a sticky post on the general GW2 discussion forum that tells you how to search for forum stuff via Google. Do that and forget the built-in search feature even exists.

Some person post this some time ago. This is what I use to search forum. Work pretty good.

Seriously it’s fairly broken so it’s been suggested by ANet themselves to use google and the site:<URL> keyword. So to search for traps in the Guardian board you would do this in google

traps site:forum-en.guildwars2.com/forum/professions/guardian

I’m sure other search engines have something equivalent to the “site:” keyword.
