What do you do for fun in game?
Make money the goal, if you have enough try to donate a little to be which would really help and try to regain it!!
I personally have the most fun doing the SW meta, world bosses, sometimes I’ll hop onto AB and farm those events.
You have ults I’m sure already? Map completion to I bet? If not it’s at least something to do.
I also enjoy going to low level zones to help new players and toss up the mentor tag asking if anyone needs help with anything.
Chase achievements when I can . . . if they’re worth the time. Otherwise, for right now, just dailies. But since you don’t want none of the dailies . . . might be best to wait for Living World to return.
If I want to feel “special” about myself while making tons of gold my personal advice is do ALL daily fractals and don’t open any until you get 250 fractal encryption, once you get those open everything and bask in your well earned rewards
as for actual “fun” try Rping, find a group, imo I get tons of hours done when I RP with my guildies, its fun.
What ever takes my fancy after doing dailies.

RP is a good suggestion. Besides that I set myself projects (currently to do Hearts and Minds 4 more times and thus finish the ley armor collection, I’ve made Nightfury and HOPE, I’ve worked on other collections, I’ve got all my 80’s save one elite spec’d, I’ve made all 9 elite weapons) and slowly coax my guild hall along. I chat with guildies, run fractals and dungeons with them, offer crafting services to those not yet maxed. I occasionally run a HoT meta both for its own sake and to build up map currency for collections. I “speed run” the PvE dailies for the fun of seeing how fast I can knock those out, with a hop to WvW Big Spender when that is up so I can advance my Emperor collection plus get a WvW flask.
The most fun, though, absolutely the most rewarding use of time in game, is helping other people. Doing teaching runs of fractals and dungeons, being an anchor for someone who needs to tele-to-friend, leading someone through a meta for their first time there, guiding people to HP to unlock their elites, it all gives me a lift that carries me over some of the more tedious times.
If you ask this again once LS3 comes out I may be having too much fun playing new story to have time to type a reply
These days I log in, collect my daily, then log out. Check the announcements once a week. And every once in a while fiddle with my characters looks or builds.
And I’ve had that expansion less than two months (bought it on sale from a third party retailer at half price). HoT really did contain very little content, only things I haven’t done in what little time I’ve owned it is farm the last tier of a few masteries, HP train the remaining three specializations, and random achievements here and there. All of which are either mindlessly repetitive at this point, or so obscure and complicated and unclear there’s no way I’ll ever even begin them without a droning youtube video guide holding my hand the whole way.
Have you tried RP?
I do it all, but I really enjoy soloing dungeons and fractals. I’ve been trying to speed run them. Aiming to beat my time for each attempt. I find this alot more fun then running with a full group.
I sometimes duo with a friend. Pushes us both to back each other up.
I try to look cool
I make PvP & WvW videos

Basically what this guy said about fractals. What I also like to do is save all the daily fractal chests (adept, master, expert chests) and wait till you have 250 and open them. I’m sitting at 59 atm for each atm. I wanna test my RNG and see how many ascended chests will drop lol.
Usually when I get bored, I just play something else. Its not like Gw2 is the only game in the world. To be honest I quite often switch to something else even before I get bored of Gw2, just because some other, better, game comes along. I play games for fun and as such I play the game that is the most fun for me at that point. Maybe you should do the same
(This post will probably get deleted )
I run around in Verdant Brink and Auric Basin and Tangled Depths.
Ah, the sunk cost fallacy…insidious isn’kitten
If you’re not having fun with the game don’t play it. While I understand the numerous deceptive psychological exploitations mmorpgs employ to make one feel compelled to religiously log in to get some sort of ‘value’ are difficult to shake off …you’ll be better off playing/doing something you ACTUALLY enjoy instead of TRYING to enjoy yourself.
The beginning of wisdom is to call things by their proper name.
Most days… I’ll log in… get my daily chest…. log out
occasionally I’ll pvp.
…and sometimes…. after I pvp and my dailies aren’t done… I’ll go view a vista or something.
Fun? FUN?! You think this is just a game? For fun?!
I guess that’s fair, I mostly just grind away SW while I watch tv these days. It’s something to do until they add more stuff.
I used to WvW but after rank 1,700 I got bored w/ it… I used to PvP but with the lack of build diversity I’ve gotten bored with it… I have basically everything I could want as far as items go so there isn’t really any point in me farming unless I just want to ecto gamble for fun… The storyline is obviously not going anywhere till August or September (maybe even later)…
At this point I just want a reason to log in, and the daily rewards aren’t even enough to make me want to log in for even 3 seconds… Suggestions?
You don’t have to play the game if you’re not having fun. Just put it down and do something else. I wouldn’t put all your expectations on one game, to satisfy your gaming desires. Play some other games, or try something new. Variety is the spice of life.
I made a guild hall (actally I had a guild for storage already), and am trying, at the moment to unlock my arena… the guild hall is now lvl 13.
It’s a huge time and mat sink and sometimes really frustrating, but I made a room and planted some trees…. And I feel at peace while cultivating my personal area… I’m wondering if I should open it up…

Been There, Done That & Will do it again…except maybe world completion.

It’s a game, why would I do things that aren’t fun? If I’m not having fun playing it I’ll stop and do something else.
At the moment my current goals are to play every version of the personal story (as in every instance at least once, not every possible combination of them), I’m working on my second legendary, doing the Current Events stuff, playing the HoT story on my sylvari.
I’ve actually been getting more into Fractals as well. I started doing it because I need Stabalising Matrixes for a precursor collection and Fractal Relics to finish off the ascended Spinal Blades but I’ve actually been really enjoying the new format where you do 1 at a time. Of course that means I now need to figure out agony resistance.
“Life’s a journey, not a destination.”
Currently working my way through the specialization weapons collections, just have 2 to go. Alongside that I’m almost done with plated/machined weapons, just a case of collecting more map currency. And when I’ve done that.. there’s some backpack collections things I want to do and so this weekend was mostly spent running AB, TD and DS metas with a brief foray into VB for flax farming and some events. The events are all so different that it’s fun to bounce between them, I don’t feel like I’ve just spent hours doing the same thing over and over even tho I actually have been doing just that..
I’ve not collected all the weapons/armour from every dungeon so that’s still on my radar, fractals remain fun, guild missions are a blast..
Yep.. still finding fun stuff to do.
pve, raid, pvp, fractal, dungeon, world clearing, legendary questing.. Zapped!
I have more things to do than I can fit into my play time, lol..
I use the daily as an opportunity to farm whatever area it takes me to, which makes me some money, which I desparately need (still trying to make glowy armour and my first ever legendary!!); plus I find it hard to resist a jumping puzzle (love them)… I’m also quite nerdy when it comes to crossing things off a list in terms of achieves/collections, both give me more satisfaction than is normal for a well-adjusted person, lol..
I’m obviously a bit of a lightweight
There is really so much in this game, I can’t imagine logging in and not having anything to do.
Have you tried RP?
I have! I hooked up with an RP guild a couple months ago, and since then, my characters have come alive

lol @ the things people come up with to compensate for a true endgame. GW2’s endgame is non existent. Map completion on alts, jumping puzzles and roleplay does not count as any form of endgame at all, it’s boring as hell.

Agreed, but not in the way you mean.
GW2 has no endgame: it just has game. Lots and lots of game I enjoy playing.
As always I like to build-experiment; that is what I most often do for fun. I’m in the middle of a long-term project to make ascended celestial everything… so that I can more easily switch builds as whim or need require.
