Guild Wars 2

I jumped into wvw for a little bit and joined the server’s teamspeak for the first time. The commanders would yell to “blast, blast, blast” after we all stacked on him.

What does this mean? Is he talking to a certain profession? I run engie as my main. Should I be doing something?

I would expect he meant ‘Blast Finisher’ used to create effects from ‘Combo Fields’

^ What Markus said. Some skills are “blast finishers”, which means when used in a combo field, they generate additional effects. For instance, using Arcane Wave (a blast finisher) inside a Fire field grants 3 stacks of Might to all allies in the area. If 5 people all used blast finishers in that field, everybody gains 15 stacks of Might, which is a significant bonus.

Alternatively, using a blast finisher in a Water field heals all allies for a small amount, so if a bunch of players all used it at the same time, that amounts to a huge amount of group healing which can turn the tide in a pitched battle.

There are also Leap, Projectile and Whirl finishers, all of which create different effects in different fields. Play around with them and experiment!

Okay, curiosity again…. Last night I think I heard “wells, wells, wells!” What skill is this?

Wells are necromancer skills. They provide combo fields which means that finishers such as blast finishers will produce additional effects through them.

Another common field (and the most used one if there is no enemies nearby) would be blast in lightning fields, which would grant swiftness, with enough ppl that can give up to around a whole minute of swiftness or more even, great for getting around (the lightning field though can only be made by ele’s but ofc anyone can do the blast)

Ahhh… Yeah, all the commanders before always asked for fire and blasts. For the first time the other day this one guy kept calling for static. +1 Thanks for the info!

I never knew before why people put down static fields amidst the symbol of swiftness and temporal curtain spam. This thread has been very helpful in that regard.
