I was trying to contribute to my guild’s game guide and we’re having a discussion about what in dungeons counts towards daily event counter, and can’t come to a conclusion.

I was personaly convinced that regular dungeon bosses don’t count and only the optional evenets do (the ones that actually reward a participation medal, karma, gold and exp, like hound in CM or totems in HoTW).

I tested that in HoTW and only the totems progressed the counter.
But yesterday I went to ACDetha route and after one of the fights near the mortar (not sure if preparing mortars or end of dungeon by now), I got my daily chest when events were the only things missing.

So to sum up, it seems to me that bosses in f.e. HoTW and CM don’t count towards the daily event participation, while others like in AC (at least some of them) do.

Can someone verify that?

I got completion for my daily events in AC Ghost Eater path as well last night. I’m pretty sure I saw beating Lt Kohler contribute to that as well.

Some things in dungeons are events, and some are not.

Typically anything that calls itself “a bonus event” like the HoTW dragon totems will count.

Sometimes events are simply always along the path. Such as CoF 1 in which you kill the champion hellstorm, regardless of whether Roshan spawns, it always counts.

Others are just kind of random. For detha, I assume it was prepping the mortars that counted as an event. I believe some of the Magg route counts. I dont know about many others because I usually dont bother to check.

But in short, yes, some dungeons have events that are either mandatory to finish, or just bonus events, which will count for your daily.

Yup I was pretty sure what’s marked as a “bonus event” and what gives the usual event completed medals counts, however what is confusing me is that some boss fights seem to count while others don’t and I can’t seem to be able to figure out what does that depend on

I believe anything that updates the mission objectives counts.

For instance, when you are doing AC, if you aggro kohler it updates the top right mission objectives with a “Defeat lieutenant” thing.

As I’ve said, I’ve done HotW explorable quite recently while paying attention to this:
only the dragon totems updated my event count, no mission objectives did.

However, in AC one mission objective did update the count, but one only.

I would be very grateful if a developer could answer this question tbh. Please
