Hello, as returning player or well I can pretty much call myself a newbie since I never did much at GW2. And main reason for that is I never had enough time to play multiple games so I rather stick to one I knew really well (WoW).

Anyways my question is as the title follows. What living story events can I do right now? Can I do that ice and fire dragon or is only ice dragon story available to me right now? I know I can purchase season 2 if I’m not mistaken and I know that part with ice dragon is ongoing but I’m not sure if I can do that fire dragon thing too.

Having unlocked all of season 3, I’m not sure if you can buy them like you can buy Season 2 (which is cheaper buying the pro-rated discounted package in the Gem Shop rather than one at a time from the Story page). But you could find someone willing to replay those chapters, including the first two episodes of season 3. You won’t get story rewards but you can see the story.

Of course season 3 is gated behind HoT so you have to own the expansion.

You can solo LS2 easily. However, since you weren’t playing when the LS2 episodes were released, you’d have to buy them in a package on the gemstore or individually (as Behellagh mentioned above). So, if you don’t want to buy the episodes, you’d have to play with someone who does own the episodes.

As for LS3, as long as you have HoT, you can play those episodes right away. Edit: YOu also have to log in during each episode’s release period. So, if you didn’t log on before this most recent episode’s release (two weeks ago), you’ll have to buy the other two episodes.

And like I said, the gem shop package deal for LWS2 is a good deal.

I can’t see them, of course, because I have them unlocked. And any alt accounts don’t own HoT; doesn’t matter, though, because they are unlocked just by logging in.

Edit: Well, I see the Episodes are available for purchase in the Story Journal, but if one does not own HoT, they are not available for purchase in the Gem Store. Can’t tell if those that do own HoT can purchase them from the Gem Store, as well.

Yes, that’s obvious. Though, one does not need to own HoT to unlock the Episodes to play later. The question is….are they available for purchase in the Gem Store, or only through the Story Journal.

I’m guessing they are only available through the Story Journal, and will remain so until the Season has concluded, and the Episodes will then be available for purchase as a bundle – in the Gem Store.

This is what we currently have in the sense of story.
(Story Note: The chapter War on the Maw and the raid wing are not experienced by the player (co-commander of the pact. The War on the Mouth is led by a union of Krytan Guilds, The races rallied in the Heart of the Maguuma and the remnants of the Pact. When this was occurs, the player is fighting in the Heart of Thorns, making their way to Mordremoth’s core. The raid occurs shortly after this part. It’s led by a group of adventurers who venture to save the missing pact clansmen. At this time, the player character is rallying their companions and preparing to return for Eir’s funeral. This does not mean the events aren’t canon, it just means the player doesn’t know what’s happening in the war or raid until an NPC tells them what happened)

Episode chapters you miss during the “bank frame” (when that chapter is just out) are usually unlockable in both the story journal and gem store (the latter only getting attention once the episode is complete), each costing gems to unlock.

The only episode you cannot unlock at all is Living Story Episode 1, as it was done before the Story Journal was introduced. However, you can get a recap with some cheesy rewards (emphasis on “cheesy”).
