I’ve seen a blue sphere in certain places, once at a keep door, once at some hill top, that was already up when I arrived there and didn’t seem to go away. What is it, actually?

might have to make a ScreenShot next time, as a “blue sphere” could be quite a few number of things actually. Quite a few skills (specially mesmer but also some other classes) can make some bluesih spheres at least

Was it a foe? The Air elementalist foe looks like a blue sphere.
(The Air elementalist summon an Ele can summon also looks like blue sphere)
Though, they r small in size, in comparison to (skill or trait activated) protective spheres that surround the player.

As I wrote guys, it wasn’t tied to anyone. I was the only person in that area and I waited for a minute or longer and it didn’t go away. That’s what made me wonder who could cast something like that, and what it actually did.

Yeah, without seeing a screenshot of it, we are all stabbing at the dark here. The next time you see one, please take a picture then upload it here for us to see, and I am sure someone will be able to identify it quickly.

Seems it was just either a guardian or mesmer skill, and that it was up for such a long time was merely a visual glitch on my end. Someone standing next to me was actually unable to see it. Wonder what’s up with that.

Sounds like the commander icon.
