What's your main?
Asura elementalist
In all games that I can I choose to play as a mage. There’s just something incredibly fun about shooting fireballs out of your hands and stuff like that
And I’m an Asura because I absolutely adore cute small races. I was a gnome in WoW, I’m an Elin in Tera.

Charr Necromancer.
I was making a Charr right-or-wrong, loved them, yet hated them at the same time in the first game, hearing they were now playable made the game an insta-buy for me.
I usually always play the warrior, that’s my arch-type. In one of the betas I tried Necromancer because I rathered play a character I wasn’t going to get attatched to so losing him at the end of the beta was no big deal, but I fell in love instantly. I felt Necro had the most personality in the profession, the most unique style and mechanics, the only problem I have with it is that a Necro is a Necro, with a warrior I could customise my guy to be a knight, or a evil warrior sort of thing, and it would feel totally fine, but the Necro feels like it needs to look a certain way.
Well I WvW for the most part
When I run with my guild I use my guardian
When I roam I use my thief
Best of both playstyles ^^
When I PvE I use my guardian. Hands down. I rarely PvE though.
I used to play everything but pvp.
After april patch i quit www altogether…
Also my main used to be an elementalist since release…now its a mesmer and elementalist is used only for daily fractal chest <.<
Too boring and too much effort for no reward.
Mesmer is not OP in pve but at least can do something.
A PvE player is supposed to avoid a 1-2 second 1 shotting aoe.
A WWW player is considered uncapable of avoiding a 5,75 second aoe for half his health.
First toon was a Human Ele, mostly because I was used to playing a mage type character in that “other game”. Lol, I quickly found out just how different this game was from that one. I’ve stuck with my Ele through good times and bad, changing some builds here- some armor there. I still consider him my main to run most content with. I’ve also raised a Charr Warrior who I enjoy playing greatly, and a Sylvari Ranger which I mostly use to farm. Each of these are like pseudo mains to me.
Currently mine is a guardian Asura
Everytime I try a new class it becomes my new main because I enjoy each one sooo much.
My first was a Charr Guardian- He was soon replaced by my Norn Engineer. Love the Norn, and the engineer is amazing because no matter what situation I am in (Solo, group event, Dungeon) A few small changes to my skills and he is ready for any situation be it suppor/ buffs support/healing or dmg/tank.
Asura Engineer.
Tiny pocket of explosions and fire. Dynamic playstyle, build variety, adorable, underestimated.
All other professions seem boring by comparison. Alt-ing a mesmer currently. Not quite an engi, but very fun.
[TTBH] [HATE], Yak’s Bend(NA)
My main is a Human Guardian.
I chose him to be my main after trying a few different professions, but Guardian was the profession that totally got my heart! I definitely love the support role that can have in the different contests, as well as the tanky part
O°v°O
Before release I was torn into two professions and races.
Races wise, I really liked the idea of the sylvari, a young race full of curiosity and wonder entering into a new world, felt like the perfect race for a new game, and the other was the norn, mainly because I love their no-nonsense style and the way they can be fighting you at one moment and laughing and drinking with you the next.
Professions wise, I’ve always gone for two things in MMOs for my mains, tanks, a heavy melee magic users (in WoW, for example, I loved both the druid and the paladin), the guardian seemed the best fit, and the mesmer because it seemed different to anything else I had tried so far.
So right now, my main is a sylvari guardian, and my first alt (the one I got to 80, working on others) is a norn mesmer..
wrapped up in some crazy ritualist hoo-ha from Cantha.
A real grab bag of ‘you can’t hurt me. They’re called Guardians.
Ele, Warrior, Guardian, and Mesmer are my mains. They’re all used for different purposes. You can add my ranger if acting as a bank/mule counts as a purpose.
My main is an Asura Engineer. I always play the smallest size available in every game and Asura are definitely that. And I love things that go BOOM XD
Primary: Gizzmologist Saikka – Asura Engineer
Human warrior, Human thief, Norn guardian, sylvari mesmer. Love them all but I guess warrior would be the main!
warrior/engineer/thief/elementalist
There isn’t enough hours in a day to be playing all 9 of them.
tl;dr I play WvW and PvE most of the time, and switch between ele, engineer, necro and mesmer. I have come to realize I really enjoy playing an offensive support type. I love crowd control, I love complexity and love micromanagement.
My main is my elementalist. I chose it initially because I mained an ele in GW1, but the way I play in GW2 ended up being completely different. I just fell in love with dagger/dagger during the beta weekend and haven’t looked back since.
I love the active, fast-paced playstyle when I’m alone, GW2 made me realize that I love being in melee range or hopping in and out of close range. I didn’t like it in GW1 aside from vaettir farming. Being able to use skills on the move makes a really big difference.
I still enjoy playing staff ele too in WvW. I love it because I have a good grasp of my role in a group and really love playing crowd control. A well placed static/ice field right after an ally’s nullfield/well of corruption is very satisfying. So my ele is still my main overall, just for different reasons now.
The engineer because it is very similar to the ele in juggling different skill bars with kits and because it is very strong on the control aspect with a wide variety of cripples and immobilizes. I love the versatility, do I want kits and if so, how many? Do I want elixirs or (pending future polish) turrets? Engineer feels really unique, but it makes you work hard for your results. (I really look forward to ANet improving turrets, I would love to use them. Engineers aren’t too different from ritualists in GW1)
The way I play my mesmer is far closer to my GW1 ele. More calm and calculating, I guess. Playing the mesmer feels like dancing. Again, I really love hopping in and out of close combat with staff & sword/offhand. I like playing shatter builds but also really love minding, controlling and supporting my phantasms. On top of that, it brings amazing utility to a group.
The necromancer.. well. I refused to play a necro in GW1, and for a long time in GW2. I really dislike the whole concept of necromancy, it just irked me. But I ended up trying it out and I just love it. The necro I particularly appreciate for the boon reversal and condition transfer/removal. The staff has nice Area Denial/CC options as well.
The four others; thief, warrior, guardian and ranger I’m working on but I can’t say I enjoy them as much. The thief is fun and active, really teaches you about positioning and dodging. I love the concept of the guardian and would like to play the role it can fulfill, but it’s too tanky for my liking. The warrior is fast-paced, but also fairly straightforward. The ranger just hasn’t really clicked yet.
But I am determined to have one of each at level 80 so I’ll stick to leveling the other four and trying to find a good niche for them.
While I get that, I think you have some leeway to think outside the box! I really like combining race/class. I have an asura necromancer and she does not look necro-y at all. I decided I would focus on her haughty asura personality, so she is dressed in fancy, colourful cultural gear. She is an asura researcher first and foremost, she just happens to research the concept of necromancy. In a similar way you could give your charr a very rugged legion look. A fierce blood legion look or a sturdy iron legion outfit. I don’t know your legion background, but I love the idea of characters that don’t necessarily look like you expect them to =)

Sylvari mesmer
Unpredictable, elegant and agile.
Ive played mesmer ever since, it all just feels so natural to me! I like the lore about an “illusionist” profession, i also like fuschia and butterflies. I love having so many teleports and stealth, out manouvring my opponent while theyre swinging their sword in the air
.
Everytime i try a new profession or another race than sylvari (but i fo have some asuras), i just crave for my mesmer after a while, and have to go back
. When i try another race than sylvari i kind of instantly regret it and make it sylvari… So i figured: i should make my human a mesmer, that way icant regret and reroll to sylvari!
Sylvari are perfect for me, the looks, the voice, the cute/happy animations, shes just always smiling to brighten my day when im sad
.
I really like the asura dodge/jump/run animations and the voice, but theyre missing female curves in my oppinion, still like them though
I guess the only reason id make a human is because of their curvyness, just my oppinion again.
Norns are too big and bulky for me
.
Charrs… I cant find any reason to like these, the personality and look i dont like etc.
I do sometimes play other professions in pvp or maybe pve just for a change, i like the engi for improvisation and versatality, the ele for constant attunement swapping and talking alot, thief for mobility and stealth (although i dont like the lore and dont play t in pve).

Heres a picture of my sylvari and new human mesmer

I think im getting a bit sidetracked here…

Charr Ranger (main character for life)
Why Charr ranger?
1. It’s a Charr,
2. It’s a ranger,
3. Ranger has pets,
4. Pets are awesome,
5. Funny to watch Charr running with his ‘cat’ around,
6. Longbow,
7. I like Charr ranger.
Meh ^^’
