Sigil of the Night gives +10% damage at night. When exactly IS night? Anyone know this?

The in-game day-night cycle is 120 minutes, with 80 minutes day and 40 minutes night. It’s not necessarily synched to server time, as different overflows have different local times – I’ll be running around LA and it will be day while my guildmate will be running around a different LA and it will be night. At night, the sky will be darker and show stars, day has a lighter sky. I also think underground is considered night (but I’m not sure about that).

Instances (such as dungeons) are set to perma-day or perma-night.

Oh really? So night is 40 minutes every two hours. I didn’t realize that. Thanks for the info!

Sigil of the Night is best to put on an AC weapon, so you’ll know when it’s active when the weapon itself starts to emit that ghostly mist.
