help me choose bethween mesmer , ele , ranger

You should choose ranger.

Seriously we can’t give you a useful answer without knowing a bit more than that. I know that I like ranger most out of those 3 (closely followed by ele) but I have no idea if you’d like it as well.

What are you wanting to do with this character? General PvE? Dungeons? sPvP? WvW? What do you like or dislike about each one? Is there anything specific you want to be able to do? Any playstyles or mechanics you really want to use or avoid?

Ranger is kind of a nice selfish choice; it’s a pretty relaxed PvE exploration experience, collecting pets is kind of fun, it’s good for tagging enemies in events and such. I love it for farming and doing my daily world events. It’s not exactly great for teamwork though, if that’s your thing (though it has it’s uses in WvW).

Mesmer and Ele have a great deal more support potential, but they’re also more difficult to solo. That said, once you get comfortable with them I think they’re more interesting to play around with (Mesmer especially) so maybe you prefer that type of experience.

You gotta tell us about yourself, what playstyles you enjoy, what modes you intend to play. What other games do you play with a class system and which classes type did you enjoy the most?

or you create 3 new characters and play them to level 10-20 while testing the weapon skills each profession have to see which one you prefer.

IMHO, it would go Mesmer > Elementalist > Ranger

Mesmers are alot more fun (due to ease of play) then the Ranger. Ranger is dull cause of the pet + Bows (Point and shoot and use a heavy attack every now and then…stuff dies) and Ele is more in the middle cause they can go either way.

Dagger/dagger brings complex to the Ele, Big time. While Staff makes it alot more simple. But Ele’s cannot weapon Swap, Both ranger/Mes can.

sPvP/WvW I would go Mes/Ranger>Ele (depending on what you want out of it..my Ele seems to die alot more often then Mes) I would still pick Mes over Ranger in this category.

But IMHO over all Mes is a better played Class, has high burst damage, can pair or go Condition, has high mobility, and is really survivable.
