Hello, I have saved 31 Laurels and I have no idea what I should do with them. I know the vendors locations and I see how I can buy things but WHAT do I buy? There are so many choices it’s just mind boggling. Currently I am not really focused on any one character at the moment as I have an 80 Engineer and 80 Thief but I am working on my warrior at the moment, and have plans for a Necromancer, Gaurdian and Elementalist.

Or do I just get the dog? Any suggestions/ideas are welcome

(I can not find a better forum than here, I think it might not be as well received in General.)

With that amount I think most people would buy ascended gear. I like changing builds so I just got the amulet which gives you a little bit of everything (the szygy or something similar). I think people who go to the Fractals dungeons don’t invest in ascended rings, because you can get them there.

Well you could spend them all on heavy crafting bags for high tier mats and then sell them, or use them yourself ofcourse.
Or you could go surf the internet for the best builds for your playstyle and your character and see what type of ascended gear fits it.

TLDR : go do research OR use them for high tier mats

Personally, I am saving for the mystery cat transformation tonic. I’m still miffed about Ascended gear so I intend to ignore it for some more time.

… you could also buy dyes with your laurels, you know.

If you’re into useless, awesome items such as minis and the cat tonic, then totally save for it. Since you are still learning what classes you like and dislike, there’s no reason to dump a bunch of laurels on an item that will be soulbound as soon as you equip it. I bought Chauncey with my first 75 laurels and he is my favorite mini – and I can move him to whatever character I feel like playing.

If not, grab an ascended amulet with a Utility infusion slot for your favorite character so far. If you’re not into fractals, save up and get a magic find or gold find infusion to slot into that amulet. You’ll get more laurels from doing dailies and monthlies, so by the time you’re ready to invest in a semi-permanent build for another level 80, you’ll likely have the resources to buy another ascended amulet.

If you’re really hurting for cash, you could buy dyes and then sell them… but on the other hand, you could also just go run CoF instead.

The laurel vendor is currently the ONLY spot to get your ascended amulets. So if you are interested in that at all, I say spend those laurels there first.

If you want to make money, there’s nothing better than to buy the unidentified dyes. You could get 6 sets of 10 for this. Heck, use some, sell some. Me personally, I’ve done this, but am saving up for a magic find ascended ring. +10%. Yay.

My guildies found the cat tonic helpful on Norn for jump puzzles as the cat is one of the only transforms that can jump. (Although I don’t have any problems with “medium” sized Sylvari and Human myself.)

For non-cosmetic stuff, my vote goes to Ascended amulet. All of the other stuff can be obtained from methods much easier to obtain than Laurels.
