Hello

I’m new to this game and was wondering if anyone could give me their opinion on what World I should join. I’m looking to go for some WvW and of course having a good PVE experience so a realm with some mature/friendly players would be good

First of all it would be nice to know your timezone. The worlds are devided in Northern America region and European region. this weekend (just coinsedence) some changes will be made, making it easier to play on other worlds, but only between worlds in your own region. due to the time difference I would recommend staying in your own region.

So please share with us if you wanna play with northern Americans or with Europeans.

WvW in Tarnished Coast is a bit whiny at the moment (we’ve moved up to T2 recently and had a number of bandwagoners and opportunists join along with the usual growing pains). However, the PvE community is still extremely friendly and mature- map chat can become questionable at times, especially in Queensdale, but many players will lend a hand or pause to have a conversation. I always find myself meeting great people.

The main issue with the server is getting on- it is nearly always full, but given that its population correlates with the number of people playing at the moment, you might have to check in at absurd hours of the morning for openings. Keep in mind that you’ll have to log out of the game and open it again to refresh the server window.

If you can’t get on, you can play on another server for now and try to transfer over, using the World Selection button in the lower-left corner. Note that server transfers are limited to once every seven days and will no longer be free after the 28th.

Edit: mercury poses a good point- I should mention that TC is a NA server.

Besides that, by ‘looking to go for some WvW’, are you saying very competitively? If so, this site has some pretty current rankings. I’d say any of the top 3 tiers would be good, but don’t take my word for it (I’m on SoR)

I’m looking to play in a server that’s on the European time zone.

Hello all!!

Just like Sonic, I’m also new to the game, also European time zone (UK). In other MMOs I’ve always been a lone wolf dedicated exclusively to exploration, PvE and map completion. So I’m looking for a low population density English-speaking world where I wouldn’t mind teaming up occasionally with a kindred spirit.

Your suggestions are appreciated. Sonic, I hope you find your perfect world too =)

For a mostly English server I could recommend Gandara. I have been here since day and I’m really enjoying it. We are mediocre in WvW (win some/loose some) wich means any help is welcome, regardless of how experienced you are. PvE is pretty active and stable and chat is mostly friendly. I transferred to the desolation for one day (in the time you could transfer once per day) to visit a friend there and it might have been bad luck (wrong place wrong time), but chat in lion’s arch was a bit more agressive.

Pick a server that has a “Very High” or “Full” (Wait untill it drops to “Very High” to transfer.

A server that has most players on will have the most going on, I just transfered to Devestation, and it’s 100% more busy than Fissure of Woe was.

DE on the end is mainly German, FR is mainly French, can’t remember the others, but you get the idea.
