If you had to pick only one level 80 to start with and play and 100% the game with it tutorial on up (at 80).

What class (and race) would keep you engaged enough to keep with it?

Sylvari ranger.

The ranger is my favourite profession and has been my main since day 1. If it was the only profession I could play I’d probably play less and be less inclined to repeat content, but if I had to do everything on the same profession that’s the one I’d pick.

And sylvari are my favourite race. No particular reason other than they seem fairly original to me, plant people aren’t a common playable race in fantasy games and I like their racial stories and lore. Also they come in a wider variety of colours which makes creating them more fun for me.

Sylvari Reaper. And as a mainoholic who only plays with one character in every MMO, that’s exactly what I’m doing, lol.

Asura or Human.. tough call, but definitely a Warrior!

While I have every profession at 80, and play 3 of the 5 races (human, sylvari, charr), if I had to pick one I would have to go with my main since the game came out. Human Necromancer.

Yeah I have a Norn necro and now I wish I had made a smaller race like human… he is cool looking but too bulky

I like my Asura Necromancer. Also Sylvari, and Ranger was so close, but the constant weapon swapping forced by that one trait did me in. :/

Asura because…obviously…Asura master race! Necromancer because that’s my main.

I’d also just have to go with my main: human necromancer/reaper. But I’d also accept a sylvari necromancer.

I did try them but I fell in love with the Necro.

Female Human Thief. There’s proper pants and I like the stealth and movement skills.

Male human ranger. Tradition started in gw1. I like the concept of the wilderness warrior. I just wish I liked the medium armor options more.

If they got rid of that irritating female asura ‘graaaauuuuuugh’ noise that she makes while casting a big ability, I would go back to my asura chrono in a heartbeat. However, having 3 phantoms plus me all making that kitten awful noise will grate on the nerves pretty badly. Since it’s a battle noise and not ‘player chatter’, not even the checkbox will stop it. Til then, it would be my Human Chrono.

My Sylvari Elementalist is hands-down my favorite of all my characters.

I’d say charr necromancer, but armor always looks wierd on charr, and is always the male version of armor regardless of if you’re character is female charr.

Open world seems much easier to play on a necromancer/safer, reaper especially is fun once you get it and can satisfy your urge for wanting a melee class too.

I’d say pick a smaller race like human or sylvari, and female as there are many nice armors for them if you like the fashion side of things. Plus easier for jumping puzzles.

She needs legendary armour and staff and 2 sets for trinkets.
Its perfect for WvW and PvE.

Engie. Asura. She was my first, she is my main still today, although I have one 80 for every profession.

Wow. No love for guardian, which is in my top 3. I’m surprised tbh…
