I’ve read that map completion experience rewards were level dependent. Higher the level, more experience the character gets.

But, at the same time, I’ve read that item rewards were not level dependent.

So… is it better, in your experience, to go ahead and complete the map as soon as possible to get items? Or is it worth “saving” the map completion until higher levels for more experience points?

Map completion experience is only level dependent for the city maps. For the rest of the maps they are based on the max level of the map.

as a person who completed map 4 times, and now i’m on 80% on my thief for fifth map completion, in my opinion… if you want to do exploration, do it.

On low lvl maps you get pretty usefull stuff like linen or cotton, sometimes black lion keyes or transmutation charges, and usually 2 pieces of gears (unless it’s a town you are completing, you will get exp and transmtation charge). On 60-70 or higher you’ll get pretty sweet stuff, exotic items (armor+armor, armor+weapon, weapon+weapon) T6 metarials and black lion gooodies.

And, as you are exploring you will gather nice amount of ore, herbs and wood of all kind along the way so that’s extra money if you are gonna sell.

So you decide if you want to save it for higher lvl’s or do in now. You can allways repeat the process you know with different char.

Rewards are based on the map level. Doing Queensdale with a level 80 will not give you better rewards than doing it with a level 15.

Same ratio of exp whatever level you do it at. Do them whenever you want, the material rewards can be good (some tier mats are worth more than others) some not good at all.
Be warned that I have never gotten an exotic higher than lvl 76, no matter what level map or character (orr, frostgorge).

The item rewards are not worth worrying about. Now you CAN get some nice skins unlocked, but the level of the items is almost never going to be useful to the character that clears the map.

Sort of OT: Am I nuts or have they made a BL key a perma reward for all open zones completion now? I’ve been clearing with some lower levels and lesser used Alts lately and have gotten one on every clear for quite a while. Have a nice little stack of a dozen or so keys at this point (not a single BL chest which is odd….).

No, that slot in the rewards can give either a key or a transmutation charge. The chance of getting a key is now much higher since the removal of transmutation stones.

The items from higher level maps can be nice. The ones that give exotics. Even if they are not lv80 the upgrades can be worth a decent amount.

Yeah….just figured that out (last 2 map clears did NOT give me a BL key). Guess I just had a really lucky streak for a bit.
