Guild Wars 2

Hello! I’m looking for some good looking longbows, which seem to be desperately lacking in this game. I can’t afford the Ice bow, or Azureflame, otherwise, I’d be all over those.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Also, am I the only one that thinks hardly any of the current long bows look remotely decent?
Currently I’m using a krait longbow, and I’ll probably just transmute the beaded long bow once I find an exotic that has the stats I need.

Try looking around here for a skin that’s more appealing.

I use the Super Long Bow. That skin is supposed to make a return…later…if it is too expensive now, or even still available on the TP. Not sure what your tastes are, though.

It’s too bad the Jade Longbow is locked behind the RNG wall and not just available in the gem store.

I would have bought it outright.

As of now, the super long bow skin is only 4 gold and some silver on the TP.

I say “only” because the box has been done for a while , and yet it’s still low, real nice price for a nice skin I’d say.

The fused longbow, also currently unavailable and locked behind RNG when it was available, is also really nice.

I use the Ithias Longbow skin from the Hall of Monuments.

Yeah right. This game has some of the most bland looking armor/weapons I have ever seen in any mmo. I don’t get Anet’s thinking on the weapons or the armor. In WoW, the weapons would start out boring at level 1, and then as you progressed in level, the weapons/armor would get really cool until they were amazing. In GW2, they start giving the coolest weapons/armor almost right away, or randomly, and the weapons actually start to look worse as you progress in level. Even the supposedly “cool” weapons in GW2 pale in comparison to WoW’s. The only longbow I use is the longbow I got from Ascalonian Catacombs.

truth is, the better looking the skin is, the more time is going to be required to get it.

as you have mentioned there is the azureflame long bow (very nice, looks like the guardians bow summon) similiar to craft is the wintersbite longbow (corrupted lodestones instead of charged and gift of sancutary instead of ascalon). someone also mentioned the wings of Dwayna which is my personal favorite longbow skin. Kudzu and Fractal skins are good but hard to get.

not as good as the dwayna one but much cheaper solution is the seraph long bow and i am also fond of the arah bow, Longbow of the Dragons Deep (arah is not that difficult when you get used to it). corrupted longbow is not bad either but still need corrupted lodestones.

There are several bows I like, but the vast majority of the dropped loot bows are boring looking. What annoys me is when I get something uniquely named and it’s the same old tired basic wooden bow. Why not give the karma vendors with uniquely named items their own skins?

No but really most of those nice lookin’ skins are dungeon skins. At least to me when I was lookin’ for one. The craftable ones are nice to, it’s just I’m cheap so I’m not gonna buy Fine Transmute Crystals for a look.

I have yet to see a better looking LB than the fractals LB.

The one thing I want most from this game is the return of the Storm Bow from guild wars, but update the effect for GW2. I think it’s one of the coolest bows I’ve ever seen in a game, and I loved it on my ranger. It would have made a great long bow legendary, and when they eventually do a second wave of legendaries I hope they consider it.

There’s this wings of dwayna (I think) bow (not sure if LB or SB) that looks really really nice. Too bad it costs a kitten load of charged lodestones again ._.

Terrible bows in this game.

I only like Ebon Hawk’s and the Super Bow, but that’s only because of the glow.

What looks good is totally subjective-I love the Ghastly Longbow on Willa, and IMO and that of many others it does look better than many a Legendary (easy to acquire to boot.)

On the pricey side, Wings of Dwayna is nice, but the ghostly spirit effect on the ghastly bow is so nice when active that I honestly won’t ever go for the rarer longbow. Life’s too short for me to worry about in-game “prestige” that doesn’t matter (though it’s entirely OK for any of you to like and pursue that bow-it’s a pretty cool skin.)

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I like the wooden longbow, because I like my weapons to look like weapons.

That said, I also like Kudzu, mostly because it would be an excellent fit for my sylvari ranger.

This one is my favorite as well. It also has the same skin as the pirate shortbow, which I like, personally.

I also made her a Mystic Hornbow for when she finally hits 80- but I like the mermaid bow so much I’m not sure if I want to give it up

And i like the jade lacerator and jade cleaver more than the longbow, the longbow is huge, too big imho.

Though corrupted longbow will stay my favourite.

Used the bandit bow the longest until I was lucky with the Flame & Frost RNG chests and was able to get both the fused longbow and shortbow

As for where to find nice looking ones I suppose it depends on what you consider nice. Personally I like the Bow of the Dragon’s Deep so for me it’s fairly simple – I need to get on and do a few more Arah runs.
