Where do I go from here?
As an honest answer. Wait til they add new stuff that’s purely fun to do, wait for them to add any new carrots that actually interest you, like more skins. Or try and get your legendary.
Either that or re-explore and do the same old DE’s from past zones unless that’s just absolutely not fun for you. Otherwise maybe try to get involved in your guild and learn to like WvW or try doing a dungeon a difficult way.
Or of course, just temporarily quit and come back later and maybe you’ll find the inspiration to do something or any of the above.
That is my thought process for when I reach lvl 80 and run out of things to do. I know it’s dissapointing, because it’s like you WANT to keep playing and have things that keep you interested like other MMO’s because you love the game. The game, atleast PvE wise wasn’t designed that way, in the future it may be with a plethora of carrots and stuff, who knows.
Personally I’m banking on Legendary being enough of a carrot to keep me going. Hopefully.

I mean, when you list the main features of the game then state that they have no interest to you, I’m not sure why you’re playing the game.
I understand you have your criticism, and I agree with some of them, but there a ton of these threads all ready, you should post in those.
There are DOZENS of these threads whining about powering through the content and being bored now. In those dozens of threads are hundreds of replies saying what there is to do in this game. Nothing more needs to be added.
Nobody can tell you how to enjoy a game as its too subjective.. I say you follow your own advice
take breaks and keep tabs on changes.
Go on an achievement grind…..or, to restate Anet’s answer that they’ve been stating since before the game launched “go a play something else and come back when there’s more content to play”. SWToR is going f2p soon. Give it a try. It’s leveling content is really good. Rest of the game…..not so much.
The Lost Shores should have stayed lost.
Yea Knote I will likely give some of those more of a go.
Where do I go from here?
Outside?
Sorry…too easy.
ANet has told people since the get go.
DO NOT RUSH through this game.
Enjoy it, explore
Take your time
Don’t play everyday
…and so on.
Come back when there is more content. Just remember, those other games just had you on a treadmill paying a monthly fee to grind gear. This one doesn’t have that unless you want to do it.
I STRONGLY suggest leveling a ranged character if you played Guardian. Take your time. Have fun. You’ll be surprised.
It is a commonly held opinion that this game lacks any content after a certain point.
But hey. What can you do? You’re not paying a subscription fee. You can’t threaten them with your wallet anymore.
You’re going to have to wait for them to release content. Because you’re stuck until then.
You sound so focused on getting ‘stuff’ from doing things… loot, gear, etc.
How about, oh I don’t know… having fun? Socializing? Enjoying the beautiful world they created?
Did I mention having fun? Grab a couple close buddies and do structured pvp and tournaments?
Sounds to me like the endgame model that GW2 uses is not appealing to you OP. If you don’t like the dungeons, can’t see past a few problems with WvW, don’t want to do sPvP and don’t want to level another character then I don’t know what to tell you.
It is a commonly held opinion that this game lacks any content after a certain point.
That opinion is mainly held by people who expect all MMOs to adhere to a specific endgame style.
GW2 says no. We will not conform. We have a better idea. Some people won’t like it but we can’t please everyone.
Luckily, there are many of us that absolutely love the longevity of GW2.
I am level 80 and completely decked out in exotics, and I can’t find enough time to do all the things I want to do.

What I was saying is if say by chance I farmed my exotic set via karma farming. Now why run dungeons? Loot is horrible so money making it is better to do karma grinds and loot mobs if you can tag enough of them.
Spvp is entertaining to alot of players, I just do not see the point in getting gear that you can only show off in that small cluster and in the bg’s.
WvWvW is a work in progress.
Im not done with the game, just finding myself logging in less and less with more breaks playing Skyrim.
I’m 3 levels from 80 (finally!). I don’t even know where to begin with the stuff I have left to do. I’m only at 25% map completion.
After I get my exotic gear and the stats I need, I will be doing WvW all the time. That is just what I want to do.
However if that doesn’t interest you, just take a break. This game is very different than other mmorpg’s. I however, much prefer this over others.
It is all preference.

For fun? You know, the thing that is meant to be the point of games lol.
PvP is for players being competitive
PvE is for players enjoying role playing games.
So if you want to race and be the best play PvP. If you want to enjoy the world of Tyria play PvE. PvE is not a race to the end and there ins’t a big shiny reward when you get there first. Anet promised to keep the world alive and keep on adding fresh new things on a regular basis. The 22th we will see the first proof (thats what they promised us), but do understand they want everyone to be able to finish the game and the extra content. So please be patient if you finish early.
To explain it from a different point of view. You bought a game for a good price. most not mmo games are played through in the amount of time you are talking bout, the average price (for the regular version) was 55 USD. So on average you spent 55USD/337hours = 0.16 USD/hour. For relaxing and having fun it is already a good deal, but wait, there is more. They are going to add more content, all for free.
bottom line:
The game doesn’t have monhtly subs. You are not paying to play the game. So if you are bored now, quit, but follow the website and come back when they add new content. Free to Play requires a mind change and some sacrifces, but you posted this 2-3 days before the first big content update, so my advise is to wait and see.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
what do I do now?
