Where is the balance of classes?
I have no issues taking down any of those three classes which you assume are overpowered. I’m an Ele – One of the classes you feel are underpowered. Perhaps you still need to get better acqainted with the mechanics of each profession in order to properly utilize them?
Not everything is about dodging constantly, or attacking constantly with that one real awesome attack. Gotta mix things up a bit. Perhaps try allocating skills to different keys, etc. =)
You can’t compare strictly 1 vs 1 pvp balance. Certain classes have aoe dmg and excel in other areas. This game is perfectly balanced in class synergy with others.

I have no problem with warriors or guardians on my necromancer
Thieves burst me down too quickly so they’re the scissors to my paper
Marks+axe/warhorn = thiefs and mesmers cry, but for that you turn elementalists and engies (aka the spammy kite bursters) into the scissors.

I don’t understand why you would say something like this. What are the sheer odds that any game comes out with the classes perfectly balanced in any major respect? Even reasonably balanced?
I could walk up to someone randomly on the street and tell them that Guild Wars 2 is a new MMO, and they would have all the information they need to state, with near 100% certainty, that class balance is an issue. Calling it axiomatic would only be a slight exaggeration.
It’s not a question of if things need fixing, but rather a question of what things need fixing.
What would you say is unbalanced Middlebud? I have my concerns but chalk them up to my setup and unfamiliarity (mesmers wtf) yet still enjoy that this is early days and I have a lot to learn
Its still new and balance is only ever finished when a game dies out. Right now I hear, on my end, that melee and crits, along with ranger bow spam with crits, is very strong right now

Totally agree!
And my friend owns as a mesmer even against his so-called nemisis thieves:)
Learn to utilize all your skills and the mechanisms that comes with your prof. Learn the other prof weakness and strength and learn to read the situation..
And last thing… never walk alone!:D
Now stop the balance stuff;) Or just reroll:)
Guardians? I think there health is too low.. I have one. I liked it better in the Beta. My Mesmar is fine tho.. but the DMG is a little weak.
Guardians if i remember right have the lowest starting hp pool of any class in the game. Dont remember where i read that but from my experience it seems to be true. Even mages of equal level in vit gear have more hp than my guard in full vit.

I agree with what you are hearing. In PvP, melee hit way too hard and bows shoot way too fast. Sort of funny to see me picking a way at a guy, while one of the above just comes up and 3/4 of the enemies just disappears.
In PvE, I can barely get a cast off before the enemy is dead.
The thing I notice, as melee, you can really tell who doesn’t stack toughness. If I start smacking a target and don’t see big numbers I just flash/teleport to the next target. People really undervalue toughness in PvP.

I don’t know enough about the classes and the game yet to know the what, but I do know it’s there. Time and a more experienced playerbase will tell.
Do you have any backup as why those three classes are OP?
I play a guardian and I don’t see any OP coming out of me. I don’t do high burst like other classes and I’m tanky and support
Warriors do the most burst but they have to get in melee range

Not exactly true. Guardians, Thieves and Elementalists share the lowest HP pool in the game (base HP 10k at level 80). Mesmers, Engineers and Rangers share the average HP pool (base HP 15k at level 80). Warriors and Necromancers have the largest HP pool (base HP 18k at level 80).
While the Guardian does in fact have very little HP in comparison, they have the highest base armor rating out of all classes, wear heavy armor and heal every 3rd hit with a mace (in an area around them as well), every second by a passive buff, every damage tick they deal with a greatsword (with a trait) and have a signet that heals for like 7,5k HP at level 80, as well as a utility skill that heals for 6k and creates a bubble for 6 seconds that your enemies can’t cross or attack through. Not to mention all the blocking abilities they possess and the traits that can boost those.
I’m not saying “the Guardian is OP”, I’m saying that all classes are more then they seem at first glance.

WvW or SPvP? Ask because i dident realize there was toughness in SPvP. All the sets i’ve seen that should have it always replace it with vitality.
Just reroll, Ele is broken as hell. Fun? Yeah sometimes, but the absolute fact is that you have to constantly stance dance in order to be effective in any way. Fun? Ok, if that’s your thing. Because other classes do not need to dance at all and they will still outdamage you.
As ele, you need the perfect environment in PvP in order to be effective. And everyone knows that PvP is anything but the perfect evironment.
Wow. Class Balance complaints already? The hopeful side of my 20 years online gaming experience didn’t expect to see a Balance post at the top of the list during my first visit to the forums. However, the realist in me knew better.
The warrior thousand blades or whatever is ridiculously broken. Today I was playing my mesmer in sPvP and it turned into a 1v1 map. This warrior would try and use that skill and if he couldn’t get it he would just run away. If he did hit with it it was game over. 12k damage off the bat for just that skill. I would die in 2 seconds. Now I know it’s interruptable but come on. A match shouldn’t hinge on him getting lucky with that stupid attack. And that’s when I was prepared for it. It’s even worse in a chaotic battle when you get blindsided. Pure cheese. No I am not running some glass cannon build and yes I would interrupt or dodge when I could. People whine about Heartseeker but this is worse imo…
As a mesmer if I get hit….its pretty much over. But wouldn’t say its cause everyone is op or unbalanced. Its because that is a profession weakness. If I play my toon right then I should avoid big hits like 1k blades by using abilities that grant distortion. That is how my class is played. If ur gettingkittenby melee maybe trying to use mobility and environment to stay as far away as you can
