I get put in the overflow in Queensdale now. But where is it? Is it just one of the other worlds or is it some special place? Like one time, everyone in the chat were from Germany it seemed.

Also will the huge swamp monster not appear in the overflow, is that why people are mad?

Overflow is a mix of different servers. For all intents and purposes it acts like a separate server. It’s exactly the same as if everyone decided to guest on some random unnamed server.

As for people being mad, that was probably because they were using the timer site to chase after the Shadow Behemoth spawn. It will have a different spawn time since it’s a separate server.

FYI, the events do still take place; we just don’t know exactly when their spawn window occurs. I slew a Shadow Behemoth (well, I had some help from others) on an overflow a few nights ago.

I’m still not sure whether WvW bonuses apply there, though. I haven’t been placed in an overflow since then, so I haven’t been able to compare stats yet.

You cannot view wub-wub stats while on Overflow, and you don’t get the crafting-related bonuses if you, say, are in Overflow-LA crafting. I believe none of them apply.

None of the WvW bonuses apply when you’re in an overflow. Also any influence you earn won’t count towards your guilds total because influence is counted seperately for each server.

So it is better to avoid being in an overflow if you can, but for most things it doesn’t make much difference. I’d certainly take this approach over queing to get into a map.
