I am leveling a charr and i just completed Diessa Plateau 100%. There is no obvious noxt to go to so i’m trying to figure out what level 25+ zone keeps with the charrs theme/what zone most charrs go to after beating Diessa Plateau.

Fields of Ruin is level 30-40, so it might fit your purpose. Most people I know just go Gendarran Fields though.

You could go to another starter area. Like queensdale or Caledon because of scaling and your. XP will stay about the same.

To answer your question OP I agree with this poster the area that fit the charr theme is fields of ruin. ( you get there from human city divinitys reach by a portal in the east/south east area of map)

The other poster clearly dident read your post.

Fields of Ruin would be the closest zone at or above your level (and the only one within Ascalon). And you can actually get there by going west from Plains of Ashford as well as through the asura gates.

But Andraus is also right that because of level scaling you can level up in any map that’s at or below your level and as a result many people like to do all 5 starter zones instead of sticking with maps intended for their level.

If you’re not aware of it yet you can read a lot about level scaling (or Dynamic Level Adjustment which is apparently the official name) on the wiki but the short version is that if you’re in an area that’s below your level all your stats will be scaled down so that enemies are still somewhat challenging and the XP rewarded and items that drop will be scaled up to your level.

This is why you’ll often see high level players in low level maps, there’s no reason not to and sometimes a lot of benefits to playing in those zones, ranging from special events like world bosses with unique drops and achievements to simply wanting a change of scenery.

GW2 have no obvious ways to go, you just go were ever you want to go, there are no red thread that you have to follow whilst leveling, this you find in your personal story. In the open world it is about exploring, making heartquests, mapcompletion, events, more events, first story dungeon at lvl 30 and next at 40 all in different zones, so start move on the maps

So start discover the world of Tyria, add waypoints, move to another race starting area, you will do this anyway since there is wold bosses in all of them except for the one in ascalon. Open your map and you will see that each start area have a waypoint open that you can port too.

I always found the charr and norn to be very thematically compatible, and they have a lot of interaction even as far back as GW1, so if you’re worried about role playing you could move to norn areas. Some of the norn/charr interactions in the personal story are absolutely golden.

I was thinking more along the lines of things like dungeons.

Something else that may help the OP, and anyone else in this situation, is that if you open the World Map and look around you can see the level recommendations for zones even before you’ve been there. They can be hard to spot at first, before you know where the different maps are, but they can be helpful in deciding where to go.

They’re also colour-coded: grey is below your level, white is at your level, green is just above your level, red is above your level and purple is way above your level. So basically you can play in any grey, white or green marked maps. You can go to the red and purple ones too (if you know the way and you’re good at dodging it’s possible to run all the way to Orr or into the HoT maps on a level 2 character) but you should expect even normal enemies to be able to one-shot you so you need to be extremely careful.

Or if you’re playing an asura or sylvari who only have a race-specific starting zone and a shared level 15-25 zone. After that you have to go to other parts of the world to keep levelling up.

Depending on the choices you make at character creation (and during the story) the personal story may also send you to other races areas before you start the Order stories which are shared across all the races. I think I encountered this earliest on my norn who picked Blacked Out at a Moot as her mistake during character creation – I had to go into Diessa Plateau for part of it, but that’s far from the only example.

The point is that while it is possible to level up almost entirely within one region (and easier for the charr than many races since they have 1-15, 15-25, 30-40, 40-50, 50-60 and 60-70 zones) the game doesn’t force you to do that and maybe have actually been designed to encourage you to move between regions so trying to stay in just one may end up feeling restrictive.
