Hello,

after not having played the game for a very long time (7-8 months) I recently came back but was dissappointed by both the lack of activity and absent communication in English of the playerbase on my server (EU Gunnar’s Hold) That, plus the fact that a good friend of mine who plays this game as well is from the US (and I cant guest in the US) , is my motivation for deciding to transfer to a US server.

However, with so many servers to choose from I just don’t know what to go for. Aside from 5 servers all of the servers seem to have the same playerbase size (Very High) and I have no clue what other differences there may be between these servers. Could someone from a US server shed some light on this and help me decide which US server to transfer to? I am not a very hardcore player but I do like to join an active and friendly community.

Why not just transfer to the server your friend is on ?

I would investigate what is important to you. If you mostly like PvE and LS and stuff you probably can’t go wrong – because you can always guest if you need something specific.

If you’re interested in WvWvW you might want to look more closely at the pros and cons of various servers. While being on an “always winning” server might sound great, it also means it’s harder to get INTO WvWvW in the first place – longer wait times. It depends on how/why/what you want to play. Wanting to be able to play that with a friend or not is also a big factor.

The most populated servers are Blackgate and Jade Quarry, unless you enjoy overflows for popular meta events and really really long queues for WvW, I’d suggest to avoid them, though it depends what time of the day you will be active.
