Which class should be my main?
I can’t help you choosing as you didn’t tell us how you liked those professions. Both warrior and mesmer are a solid choice for pretty much all game types.
I would never reroll a whole character just to change its look, do you really have that much free time?
1) I really don’t see the point of deleting an 80th Asura for an 80th Human of the same class. If you’re doing it for some kind of vital Racial skill in the Human skill selections, then fine. Otherwise it doesn’t make a lot of sense unless you really dislike the Asura visual appearance and signature animations.
2) Thief is getting some kind of nerf in almost every major patch. Originally the game launched with the class being a stealth-focused alpha striking class. Due to PvP balancing, the class is slowly being gutted of its stealth and ultra spike dps capabilities. The final goal is to rebuild Thief into a class that is focused on “burst” damage and mobility. Yet what does burst really mean? When are they ever going to buff a Thief’s mobility options? These are eternal questions and many Thief players are getting frustrated.
If you want to build a Thief that is mainly a non-stealthed build (or only uses stealth in occasional situations), then you should be mostly unaffected by the constant tweaks to the Thief class. But if you were looking for some kind of stealthy assassin that puts other players / mobs down in just a few key hits, then I would tell you to avoid the Thief until things get more settled down within the next 6 months.
No, i dont have that much free time, and i didnt really enjoy leveling the mesmer, but on the other hand, i can’t see the armor/weapon details very well on the asura..
Maybe i could just gear it with a full cof set, and just use it for cof p1 farm when i dont feel like farming with my warrior, and then i can get the feeling if i like it or not, and if its worth rerolling ^^
thing is, i like asura mesmers for pvp, but not for pve.. the only reason is the small weapons/armors..
Still need some suggestions ^^
Also im thinking about leveling either a ranger or engi, neither of them will be my main tho..
Don’t worry about gear so much. Eventually, they’ll all be maxed out in Ascended. Though a good build is a good build. No matter if it’s in masterwork or better.
A question is, how are you going to level this new main? Craft it up or play it? Because you might want to buy another character slot instead. Then have fun cycling new characters. Build one, take it into sPvP for some fun, then reroll. Try out all the races and professions this way. After a week of playing, pick the one you liked the most, build it, and stick with it to 80.
Either way, a Zerker Warrior is pretty much a defacto character to have. I bounce around all day from my original character a Warrior, to my Ele, then Mesmer, and lastly my Ranger. It all depends what I feel like doing. Especially in WvW as they all perform better in certain task.
For the thief comment, they are the undisputed Golden Child of the Dev’s. They never get nerfed.

Thieves get nerfed all the time…. just not what everyone cries for
