Paid. I haven’t done one so I’m not sure how it works but free tourneys are well, free.

If you got it from the Achievement Chests, then yes.. you didn’t have to pay anything. Those chests had very good armors without having to compete in tournaments.

You know the heavy armor gloves you can get for free?
I got 4 of those on the achievements chests…
2 ascalonian greatswords and so on, most of what I got, I got more than one.

Actually the tournament system we have now rewards both paid and free tournament skins when you win, plus the echievement chest pvp rewards are tournament skins. Rarity is entirely based on which rank the skins are awarded, I’d say something like:
rabbit
deer/tournament (both free and paid)
dolyak
wolf
tiger
bear
shark
phoenix
dragon (not sure if anyone has gotten to there yet)
