Guild Wars 2

So I bought the game and waited for the long download and I went to log in and created a character and it dawned on me I don’t know which server to choose. Are there any suggestions? And how do I know which one?

1: wich region are you in?? guessing your time your in Northern America??!! pick an heavy populated one. This game doesnt know things like steal kill or lootstealing. so if more do an event or heart you still get the same rewards. though things scale up when there are more people it isn’t as much, so an active server makes your life easier.

I’d suggest trying to find one with an active community in the game area you wish to focus in. If you like RP, TC (Tarnished Coast) is the unofficial server. If you prefer WvW, you may want to gravitate towards a top-tier WvW server. If you prefer PvE, you may want to find a server that has a strong PvE community (I know TC does; Not sure what all others do).

I am in America but I went with Tarnished Coast because of the PvE. Another odd question… How is the solo play? I know it’s a weird question but WoW ruined my taste for grouping with people for online play…

You can solo everything in PvE except dungeons. You can and probably will do your personal story solo too, onlu last mission, which is dungeon need grouping.

There are same events or some points to explore that would require help of other players(unless you are very skilled already) but it don’r rquire to form a party. Often you will just meet people doing the content.

There is no need to party in WvW too.

Unlike many other MMOs there is hardly any chance for griefing in GW. There is almost no resource/exp/loot etc stealing.

Solo is incredible. I didn’t really guild and party up until level 80. ^.^
