I want to make a warrior for random smashy feelings. I already have a Charr Necromancer (male) and a human Engineer (female). Which race and sex do you think looks the best in heavy armor?

I’m hoping to avoid doubling up on race. I have tried to like Norn but their story makes me angry (I hate alcohol). Asura seems to small and hard to look “cool”, and Sylvari are weird, which could be cool, or could be uncool.. So, those of you who use heavy armor, who looks the coolest? (Race and Gender)

I like my Charr… though admittedly, I only started collecting good looking armour at like 65, because you go through it so fast to begin with. Helmets can look a bit stupid on Charr though, but you can just switch them off until you find a good one anyway.

Small races… I dunno, I don’t really notice what they have on ‘cause they’re too little.

It depends a lot on colour too, IMO. Some colours on some armours look like plastic, or as though it has no texture.

They all look good.
Norn = HUGE!
Char = Not as big as Norn
Wood people = not as big as char
Human = same size as wood people
little people = smallist hit box in game.

Well more importantly are you going for a male or female toon and what kind of look/attitude are you going for?

Also I don’t think that Asura hitbox comment is true for this game…

I wish i could get the Char armor on a Norn. that would be SICK!!. i wish i rolled a Norn. this woodperson is so small!!!

You can get some Charr armours on other races, if you count things like the Iron Legion chain armour and various things from heart vendors.

Charr and Norn males. Because big stuff in heavy armor is scary.

Hit boxes are all the same size.

My skinny Sylvari guardian looks like a dork in his chainmail. He’s going to look great when he has Tier-3 cultural, but until then his armor just doesn’t fit him.

I have to admit that playing alongside a gigantic Norn in heavy armor feels pretty darned impressive.

Charr look great in heavy armor if you turn the helmet graphics off. Otherwise you look like a cat with it’s head stuck in a bucket.

Oh yeah? I know it’s light armor, but I still look kewl ^_^

Human and Sylvari look exactly the same in most armors. They’ve got different cultural armors, though. Sylvari armor is flowy and has a lot of wood, while human armor is more traditional renaissance-era armor, the tier 3 heavy looking like what Logan Thackeray uses.

It’s all subjective but my pick is human males for heavy armor.
For me Norn look comically large, almost like a parody of masculinity, like a teenage boy would choose or someone overcompensating for other “shortcomings”.
Charr look like big kittens.

My next character will definitely either be a Norn guardian or Charr engineer. I remember playing a Charr in beta, it was fun although moving felt a tad slow -_- Besides, I like the big kitten look! :D While we all love humanish looking cat people like that race in Final Fantasy MMOs I’ll still give GW2 bonus points for making Charr truly cat people.

Why people make Asura toons and spend time customizing armor that nobody can see, I’ll never understand. As far as the best looking heavy armor I’d have to say human female. I still chose Norn female in hopes that Anet will release better armors in the future, and because Norn women are tall and jiggly.
