Why Engineer highest dps class
The whole thread assumes Engi is the only class that can keep 20 stacks of might, which is obviously not true.
Warriors and Eles can do the same, actually Warrior should currently be the highest DPS class.
though my main is an engineer I agree with Red Falcon. Based on pure dps calculation the warrior has the most. However, keep in mind that warrior’s need to be in melee range. So in PvP, kiting is very effective against warriors. In PvE the same goes when playing with others (willingly or unwillingly) foes change agro or are pushed backwards by other players. In my opinion dps has become increasingly less important due to the fact that the trinity is gone in GW2.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
I’ve tried the might stacking build before and you lose all your utility, because you basically have to keep spamming elixirs constantly with all your slots and tool belt to keep it going. It also limits your runes and such, because you have to stack so much + duration to make it worthwhile. And then, outside of that, grenades are a pain to use and inaccurate outside of dropping them on something/someone fairly close to you. For a glass cannon, pure squish and damage build, it works; but I don’t like the tradeoffs for something another class can do so much easier. I prefer to play to an engineers strengths, which is flexibility and utility.
He also makes all of is assessments based on comparing the auto attacks of weapons , discounting all utility damage, any damage other then AA, and any damage from F key skills, class mechanic skills, pets, or minions.
Then he goes on to defend the fallacy religiously. Kind of sad really.
In all seriousness and without intention to troll, why would anyone care what class does most dps? GW2 is not as much a pissing contest as other MMOs out there. As long as you choose a build of your liking and choose gear stats and a play style that match the build, you’re viable.

Hello everyone.
Mell, since you have already an open thread about this issue in the Engineer subforum, this one in Players helping players does not really add anything else and therefore, we proceed to close it. Thanks for your understanding.
