I wanted to take advantage of the new promotion for more bank tabs/bag slots. However, my account does not have any more bank tabs available to open. I have plenty of bag slot options to access, but for some reason no more bank tabs.

Is this a bug or is it intended that we only are allowed x number of bank tabs?

It might also be a practical issue. The servers have to save a record of everything we keep in the bank and that takes up memory. It might only be a little bit for each slot but across all the bank tabs across all the accounts it adds up. Especially if they did allow us infinate storage and therefore needed potentially infinate memory to keep track of it.

I made a personal guild and bought influence enough for 50 guild bank slots. You can’t put account bound/soul bound items in it but other stuff will go in there. It doesn’t seem to be cost effective to get more than the initial 50 slots however. If you need more than that, it’s cheaper to start up another guild.

As far as I know, you can make as many guilds as you want to expand your storage. Maybe not to infinity ^^ but certainly enough to have all the storage space you could ever want.

You can only be a member of 5 guilds, so that would be your limit. But if you really need more storage space than that I’d say it’s time to reconsider how much stuff you’re keeping.

I actually do not hoard, but I do have several sets of armor for my characters plus needed slots for stacks of mats needed over 250/stack size. I do ok with the 8 bank tabs I have but would like at least one or two more just to ease my storage problem.

as you said you have room for more bags, well buy more bags and use as bank? or evne make a new chracter and use him as storage

I think it would actually be cheaper to buy a character slot and just load him up with large bags and use him for storage if you need more than bank slots isnt it?

I wouldn’t call myself a hoarder, but I currently do want more bank room :P it’s simply for long-term investments.
that said, an extra 2 or even 20 bank tabs would not help my situation. after filling everything, I currently just listed it on the TP and ate the 5% listing cost. turns out it’s not that expensive for 1-time use. (it usually costs less to list 30 stacks on the TP than buying another bank tab – but it can’t be reused, so it’s like disposable bank space)
