Q:
Why can I only craft 1 Leaf of Kudzu?
A:
When they introduced precursor crafting it was stated you can only craft one.
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/a-legendary-journey/
This crafting system is an account-based activity, which means you’ll only be able to craft each precursor this way once. However, all of the currently existing precursor acquisition methods will remain intact in addition to this new acquisition method. That means that if you want a particular precursor more than once, you’ll have to fall back to the original methods of acquisition.
Precursors can only ever be crafted once and they were deliberately designed this way.
You can however gain the core precursors (ie not the HoT ones) via various other methods;
- Mystic Forge
- Ultra rare Open World/Boss/Instance drops
So yes, you can only craft Leaf of Kudzu once
It also tells you in the wiki that it can only be crafted once.
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Leaf_of_Kudzu
Crafted once per account after completing the Kudzu III: Leaf of Kudzu collection.
They always stated that the crafted ones would be 1 of each for the account.
Exactly to prevent people to do what you did craft a precursor/legendary sell it to gain more money then you spent then craft another one.
To be fair to OP, this should be information readily available in the game when you go to craft a precursor. It shouldn’t be information that you have to lookup on the wiki or on a release page that is almost 2 years old at this point. No one should have to do that to get this information.
It should have said when you finished the precursor that it could only be crafted once. It did when I made Carcharias.

It does mention it in game but the language used it a bit too passive. It says “You have already crafted this item.” which implies it can’t be done again but “This item can only be crafted once per account.” would have been better for people who can’t handle the subtlety.
