Guild Wars 2

Hey all, before I start let me give a little insight into who I am. I have been playing mmos for over 18 years now since the release of Everquest in 98’ since then I have ran the gambit of new release mmos as they’ve come and gone, and this is not my first time in guild wars 2. With that being said.

I can’t for the life of me figure out why I cannot find a class I enjoy, now before anyone jumps in, I do understand that it all comes down to personal preference, etc. But, I recently return over a month ago since the PAX announcement of Raids. Since then I have tried out nearly every class extensively, and I don’t mean the first few levels, no. I played each class for 2-3 days, spending gems to craft level them to 80 over night, as well as chain queuing pvp matches and fractals. Yet for some reason I cannot truly find a class I’m happy with.

I love this game, the side stories, quests, puzzles, pvp, pve, and the little things, it is in fact in my opinion one of the better mmos of the last decade, so the game itself is not the problem I am having. I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately, and the only thing I can come up in with is that nothing just feels quite right, anything I want to do is torn down by the fact that it dies not do it as well as I’d have liked or thought it should do. I can’t tell if it’s the hybridization of the classes or, that I’m stuck in an old world where I’m defined by roles, but below are all the classes I have at 80 and have spent at least 50+ in spvp and pve.

Ranger long/gs

And unfortunately I found myself enjoying something from every class, some more than others, but then there were such massive downsides to each class that I was immediately turned off from them. Perhaps I am being too picky, maybe I’ll see some hope when the new elite specs release, further expanding my options in the coming BW3, but for now I’d like to know what you all think. Is this normal? Did anyone else have trouble? Are there any suggestions, thoughts, or ideas to help me enjoy a class? Feel free to ask questions as well ill be in and out when I can. I enjoy at least 7 out of 8 existing classes so I can’t say I share the issue although it did take me around 3 months to figure a setup I like for my Engineer way back when I first started leveling. Might have stopped playing it for a while after the initial leveling as well.

I did enjoy true support, (support only) and healer but the other guy may be correct, or I may have simply not spent enough time trying things out.

If you’ve already pre-ordered Heart of Thorns, hop into the beta test this weekend and try out Druid (Ranger Elite Spec) and Ventari build Revenant if you’re into support stuffs.

^this. I’ve made my own builds. And I play the way I want to. I find I enjoy the game alot more, than trying to play how others want me to.

Actually just recently I’ve discovered the engineer, and playing a healing engineer is tremendously fun, and is only going to get stronger with the addition of scraper, I’m quite excited as far as support and bunker holding points goes. \o/

To properly identify what your issue is, it would be helpful if you could detail what it is you don’t like about classes. It might be a build issue, a lack of understanding how to play a class to the best, or parts of GW2 ’s design not working for you.
