Faolain Ventari – Sylvari Elementalist
Faolain Kormir – Human Revenant
Hi,
I am looking at making a Windows 8/10 Desktop Theme with Backgrounds/Sounds etc
I am looking to see what is the most popular or beautiful scenery in the game?
Or if you have any preference on what would make a good desktop background in regards to Guild Wars
As a side question, I am wondering if I would be able to share this theme to the Guild Wars 2 Community with licensing due it being owned by Arena Net, or would I just have to credit them?
Thank You
If you ask me, Timberline Falls, Auric Basin, and Tangled Depths are the most beautiful maps in the game. I’ll link some vistas later when I’m on a computer and not a phone.
It never hurt to credit. You might be fine if you just photoshop a GW2 watermark in the screen, but IDK

I’m forever surprised Anet don’t have ready-made theme-packs we can buy for some small fee….but then, I’m forever surprised they don’t have anything in the way of merch for us to buy at all…
Seems insane to me that they have a shop on their website with next to nothing in it, they seem determined to not promote the game or take our money /shrug
For me, ascalonian maps are the best
Rata Sum or Rata Novus would be the best as they are Asuran Genius at work
You could try the asset pack (https://www.guildwars2.com/en/media/asset-kit/) from the media link on the gw2 main site. They have some other good stuff in that menu as well.
The hidden grotto in the bottom level of the Grove is one of the most beautiful places. It has the right serenity for a desktop image, imo, though I myself wouldn’t use it. I like to clearly see my icons … I am dreading going to Win10 and finding that I can’t bring over my dull green ivy theme I’ve used since before Win7.
