Hi everyone, I was wondering which profession in guild wars would be closet to a witch hunter. I’m trying to decide between a ranger and a guardian with the dragonhunter specialization. I’ve played a little D&D and want to try and recreate my favorite class in guild wars 2. Thanks for the replies

Look wise, I’d say ranger, skill wise, guardian/Dragon Hunter. So really it’s down to weather you want the look or feel.

Might want to look into Thief as well. Sword/Pistol looks pretty Witch Hunter to me, but that’s probably because I’m more familiar with Warhammer Online Witch Hunters.

When the Dragonhunter (The Guardian’s 1st Elite Specialization) was released, ArenaNet said it’s main inspiration was in-fact the idea of Witch Hunters.

Personally, when I think of a Witch Hunter, I always imagine them as a character who fights from range. I describe my Skyrim character as a Witch Hunter, and he uses a longbow, interestingly enough, Dragonhunters in GW2 use longbows as well.

Like Sagramor says, Thief could suit the idea of Witch Hunters as well, especially since you come from a D&D background. Personally, ive never played D&D, but their Witch Hunters are described as assassins, which Thieves are meant to be.
