I ask this because I just bought the game today and won’t be able to find out what server my friend is on for at least a day or two. Looked in the news forums and it said free server transfers are limited to once a day to prevent exploits BUT when I go to pick a server it tells me if I want to go to another server I will have to purchase a server transfer.

Just unsure if free server transfers exist or not and with two different things being told to me by the game. Also sorry if this thread doesn’t belong here wasn’t quite sure where I’d ask about this.

Yes, free server transfers are still up, much to the detriment of WvW. However even after they end free transfers you will be able to “guest pass” onto other servers.

Thanks! I was just afraid to pick a server and be forced to pay to move to my friends, I don’t know how it affects WvW since I’ve not really played the game but its a nice feature for people like me ><.
