I got pretty annoyed today when me and some people tried defending one of our towers. Apperently Anet thought it was a smart idea to make this Worker guy who basically just waste the supplies on repairing the gate.
Am I just failing to see the good this guy does cuz’ I’m mad he took the supplies we guys where going to use to create arrow carts and junk? Or is just guy pretty much working against the people holding places?

This is the worker that renders upgrades that you’ve ordered on the keep. Next time don’t order upgrades when a battle is near.

The worker never repairs anything. He just upgrades the keep. So stop buying upgrades if you dont want that..

The way it works, is you order an upgrade from the Quartermaster. Then the worker takes supply from the Tower/Keep/Garrison and uses them to complete the upgrades.
He will run back and forth from the supply depot to the gate or wall and do a little hammer/repairing animation over and over. He takes about 10 supply every time, and as he works, the upgrade slowly gets finished.
So if you are taking supply from the Tower/Keep/Garrison while it is upgrading, you are keeping the worker from having the supplies he needs to complete the upgrade.

Keep in mind, when reinforced walls/gate/fortified completes, it fully repairs the entire structure. So if you are being sieged back and forth and one of these is trying to complete, you are screwing yourself by draining the supply, because as soon as the worker finishes upgrading to reinforced, every gate and wall will repair itself automatically.

The best policy is to leave the supply depot alone when upgrades are happening, after that if its fully upgraded, then its ok to use the supply. Just make sure you are defending and keeping the supply camps captured, running Yaks etc.
