I’m a little confused about world completion. There’s the meter on the account screen which covers all characters, but then each character also has their own meter showing how much of the world they’ve been to.

So is there any benefit in having a single character complete every heart and every single thing in every zone? Or can that be spread across multiple characters?

I hope that makes senses. I’m feeling OCD and finicky about it, playing with my girlfriend. She’s just started a new character, and I started a new one along with her, so it might make sense to just stick to my new character. Instead, I’ve been switching back and forth depending upon if it’s something my higher-level character is missing. I figure this way, I’ll get 100% on my main character eventually. This is proving less fun than I’d anticipated, though, and it’s causing my other character to never get 100% anywhere.

Any advice?

World completion is by character, not account; however, I believe the “award” icon on the selection screen is account wide. So, if you get completion on one character, your account gets the award, but you have to get the whole map on just one character.

I’m kind of in the same boat. My GF gets her game this week and I’m starting a new character with her. Figure I’ll just go for completion on my main when I’m playing without her rather than worry about starting all over.

The one on the character select screen and the Been There, Done That title tracks progress on your most complete character.

The individual explorer achievements (for uncovering areas in each region) are account wide though.

The title “Been There, Done That” is account wide. To get the star icon by your name for each character, you will need to have 100% world completion on each character.
