Hey guys,
i haven;t played in about 3 or 4 months. so tell me.. whats new in the game?
are instances still bugged to hell and back ? is DR still kittening people?

over all is the game worth playing again?

If you’re asking that question, nope. But I’ll be having fun still playing it. :-)

Dungeons still have bugs, but almost all exploits have been fixed and bosses and events that were ridiculous were reworked. Rez rushing encounters was removed as well.

Sorry… People are still complaining about those things, I have yet to experience them, but my play is more limited than theirs. But, if you were dissatisfied with that area of content before there is little that has changed which will make you happier… Is that any more useful?

You’ve missed a LOT!

Dungeons are fixed.
DR is only an issue if you farm the same mob over and over and over – or run the same instance over and over and over.

Ignore that guy…forums have been polarized for quite sometime.

I personally don’t have a problem with DR, especially if you farm dungeon paths and alternate every 3rd run. (CoF path 1 is the main one atm)

Dungeons have been tweaked a bit. Encounters are much more doable, though you no longer can rez while a party member is in combat to avoid “rez rushing” content.

Fractals are pretty cool as well, if you’re into instanced content.

Guild Missions are coming in less than 2 weeks (Feb. 26th)…guilds will be able to create events in the open world and earn new buffs for the guild, like reduced WP costs guild wide.

They are also adding a CTF map to PvP, which I’m looking forward to.

WvW should be getting fixes in march, and there will be more PvE content throughout the next 3 months.

I’d come back, if I were you. If you don’t like it, try again after the 26th.

yes. there is a rendering issue called culling in WvW. Basically, sometimes you can’t see everyone who is there. They should more fixes as time goes on, but thieves are using stealth to exacerbate the issue.

1v1 they’re still making people cry, and there are still people who say they’re fine, l2p. Zergs are still the biggest complaint. Coverage is the second. Depending on which server you’re on, you may only be concerned about 1 of 2.

sPvP has probably undergone the most changes, although Orr was also significantly redone in PvE land.

I actually think it’s totally worth playing, don’t get me wrong. But, since the forums have been polarized for a long time over the same set of issues, and those are the issues that he’s asking about, I’m assuming that he won’t be happy. I never thought that instances were all that buggy or that DR was a problem. But nothing has changed that has made the people who have been complaining about those things happy. Hence the thrust of my post…

Well, to put things simply, yes, it is worth playing again (Always was worth playing since release, for me anyways).

In detail:

• Instances aren’t bugged unlike before (Although I haven’t encountered many bugs in my entire time of playing Guild Wars 2). In other words, instances are fine right now.

• Another thing to add is that there are so many features added in the game while you were gone. One of them is the introduction of the Living Story where players will be experiencing a life-like story-telling experience (The Living story is divided into four different parts starting from January until April). The first story arc of the Living Story is called the Flame and Frost, which focuses mainly on the Norn and Charr refugees, although I have no idea as to who is attacking them or why. In short, the new Living Story feature is top-notch!

• Another feature to add is the new Laurel System, a new currency which allows players to buy gear, and plenty of other things in a more streamlined and friendlier fashion. Laurels can be earned by doing dailies and monthlies (PvE-only though).

• Another one is the new Guild Mission features, where guilds and their members will be pitted in missions that will require them to work together. The rewards are substantial. Also, in one interview with Colin at MMORPG.com, the guild missions will consist of different types of missions. the first one revealed was the Guild Rush, where certain numbers of guild players will do a number of tasks under a time limit to win. In short, guild missions will be a load of fun!

Alright, while I only stated 4 features, there are actually plenty more in terms of balancing in both the PvE and PvP sides and also aesthetics.

In conclusion, and what I am trying to say is that Guild Wars 2 is really fun, with plenty of new things added monthly. And to answer your last question one more time, yes, it is really worth playing again. And if you still feel dissapointed with the game, then alright.

Another problem when i stopped playing was there was little to no end game content. i was getting hit with DR on every instance run getting only 6 tokens even though it was my first run of the day.

after that i stopped playing. what are these Fractals?

DR is still there hunting players.
Culling is still making WvW impossible (And yes, the Thiefs are still abusing it).
Some dungeons are still bugged, as are some events/zones.
Oh, and the fanboys won’t tell you that you need a couple of grand to make any gold.

…Apart from all that, it’s great! cough

Since the game is free to play you could just log in. If you like it stay if not leave. WHy do people have to make a forum about this…its FTP no resub just try it.

Fractals are the most fun dungeons in the game imo

Supposedly scales to infinity in difficulty. I think the highest anyone has gotten is around 80?

It’s worth playing just to try the fractals. I really enjoy them. Aside from that dungeons are a lot better now that you can’t rez rush.

But there are still bugs, and people are still complaining about DR. I don’t think DR is a problem, I think there’s a loot bug that affects some people and not others, which is a completely different story.

But why not come try it, instead of asking our opinions. It might be great for one person and crap for someone else.

Not sure why people ask these questions on a game that has no sub… just update the game and play again… if you don’t like it after a night of playing then quit again lol. Pretty sure if somethings not changed that you quit over you will notice right away.

Why seek an answer on what you should do from other people.

Why don’t you do what I did, install the latest update while you’re doing something else, then actually play the game and see for yourself.

If you stopped because of RNG. No.

If you stopped because of DR. No.

If you stopped because of no progression. Yes. Fractals == the glorious grind!

If you stopped because of bugged stuff. Yes. In fact they just reset everything, so get in quick!
