First I’m gonna link this

http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Volckitten

Would farming CoF be a good way to get the necessary lodestones to craft Volckitten? Would farming world bosses for a month be more profitable? I recently asked someone in my guild how much gold they can make in a month and he said around 400 gold. Volckitten is currently close to 500 gold, so is it better to get Volckitten and sell it?

I cannot answer your question, sorry, though my general feeling based on forum commentary is that farming lodestones is sheer hell and the best way to get them is to more reliably farm the gold to buy them on the TP.

However, I am laughing at the forums using the feline filter on the name of an in game item. Even in the link to their own wiki /rolls eyes

I didn’t even realize it did this until after I posted it. I think the URL is what makes me laugh the most.

Well if you want the sword, and dont want to buy it, and want to spend the least amount of money, then Farming CoF would be the way to go. But it will take a really long time. But if you are in more of a hurry, farming all the dungeons, fractals, and world bosses, and have the time, then buying the mats would be the way to go. But if you are just looking for money, then the absolute best way is use your credit card to buy gems and convert to gold. The second best way is the dungeon route along with the WvW/EotM trains.

Edit: I figure it will cost about ~350 gold to make it, and to sell it at 500 gold would only be about 150 gold profit. (Not including TP fees). So the question is, do you want to spend possibly a month (depending on your play style) to make 150g, or just run the paths and keep the gold?

Before you get discouraged … consider making lodestones from cores. In terms of gold, it’s cheaper but it requires skill points to buy some of the forging materials.

Right now it would cost 361g without using buy orders.
64g profit
25g listing fee
50g tax

Doing world bosses daily and salavaging the rares then selling the ectos should get you at least as much depending on how many bosses you do per day.
