A while back I transmuted my Prototype Fractal Capacitor to a different character. I first transmuted it onto a back strap received from a plush charr then transmuted it again onto a karma back piece. I’m wondering if a splitter will return to me the original fractal back piece or will I get the back piece skin on the strap and the karma one? Is it even possible to ascend your back piece after transmuting it?

If your current skin is that of the capacitor, you will get it back.

If you use a splitter you get back the original item the skin came from and the original item the stats came from. Anything else you transmuted it with along the way is lost.

So in this case if it’s got the Prototype Fractal Capacitor skin and karma stats you’ll get back the Prototype and the karma back piece with it’s original skin. The strap you used to transfer it is gone completely.

(Incidentally if the skin was originally one of the consumable skin items with no stats, like the Dragon Wings or Quaggan back packs then what you’ll get back is that skin on random blue stats.)

Blue stats on the skin, ascended backpiece will have the original ascended stats as it already had those stats before it was transmuted. Skin should be account bound, as all skins are originally account bound.

update: i use spliter and receive, skin account bound (skin not blue random), back infused soulbound and 1 agony resistance
