Guild Wars 2

So here I am again to ask your advice on picking a class. I have been at Guardian for 46 levels now and find it very sturdy but lackluster in combat. Very stand and fight with not much movement to it.

I tried out Elementalist in EotM and its quite a fast paced class, Is it also able to support group while having dps? Or is ele dps only.

Also I started on Engineer before Guardian and leveled until 33. The whole mechanical charm seemed to wear thin when all the kits just had to switching to the flamethrower all the time.

Any advice from all the info I have given would be most appreciated!

There are some awesome builds here that are exciting to use (PvE, PvP, WvW).

- You used an ele in EotM are u planning to get into WvW more? Staff Ele’s can use water = heal, Fire = might, earth = protection. So many ways to support your team, but it requires coordination with ur team to use effectively.

- Cant offer you better advice on your engineer as i tend to feel the same way about them. Use the above website to research them more perhaps.

All classes have problem in combat at low level but i promise you that problem will disappear when you hit 80. Guardian is one of the most effective class and reward gameplay at 80.

Ele also have good dps and support if you ask…fun class. Engineer is also fun but require a lot of skill to play well i suggest you leave your engi there until you learn more about the game.

My final advice is stick to your guard and get him to 80 first ( he might not be your main in future but you can treat him as a farming tool ) guard can do a lot of stuff in easy mode not to mention guard can use rune of flame legion ( cheap armor runes but very effective ).

Ele has a lot of support in the form of boons and fields. They can stack to 25 might (fire), offer protection (earth), provide healing and condition removal (water) and give swiftness (air). They also have a plethora of useful fields to put down for others to use (fire, air, water) and blast finishers to use on other people’s fields (want some extra stealth? Use your blast finishers in Thief’s or Engi’s smoke field and voila).

I thought of trying WvW but I am more into PvE.

Honestly, the classes are all very different once you hit level 80 and get max gear/traits/etc. You may find a class very boring to level, but once it hits 80 you might change your mind.

I originally mained an engineer but as soon as I got my guardian to level 80 I liked him so much more. Ele at 80 is also a lot of fun.

Just putting it out there that this game doesn’t really punish you for making the wrong class choice. Leveling is a sinch and you can always just buy new character slots or delete undesired ones.
