So a friend asked me the other day whats my /age so we compared them

I had xxxx over the past 512 days and he had xxxx over 518 days

Which got me thinking he had the game at least 2 months before I got it so I was wondering if anyone knows how they count the days? Cuz he did take a 2 month break from GW2 which would account for us having similar day counts if it doesn’t logged.

The xxxx part only counts when that character is logged in. The number of days starts from when the character was created.

Well ya I knew the xxx only counts when it is logged. But I’m not talking about the day that is for the character I’m talking about the day that is paired with all time across all characters.

/age
You have played this character for xxx hr xx min over 247 days
Across all characters, you have played for xxxx hr xx min over the past 512 days

^that’s what shows up. For my friend who had the game 2 months before me says 518 days, so that doesn’t make sense. That’s why I’m curious if the day count just counts the days you log in or something.

It counts days actually played, so not days that go by without logging in.

Ok so it does that’s what I was thinking since he had the game ~2months before me and he took a 2 month break. Thank you =)

I do not think that’s correct, hours are tied to play time but the days are calendar days since account creation.

So I just check out my boyfriends account (created the same day as mine but is never on) and we have the same day count for all characters, so it does seem to be based off of account creation. However something must be off about it because like I said my other friend had his game ~2 months before me so he should have ~60days more then me not 6 =/

The /age command produces in my case the following.

’you have played this character for 1,603 hours 45 minutes over the past 339 days.
Across all characters, you played for 3,819 hours 45 minutes over the past 534 days.

This means that my account is created 534 days ago (the day of launch off the game, retail version prepurchase so 1 day headstart).
The character I was logged in was created 339 days ago (birthday present soon – yaaaaay )

In total I have played for 3,819 hours 45 minutes on all my characters. on the character I was logged on when using the command I have played 1,603 hours 45 minutes

These figures (the days) are exactly correct. It has nothing to do with days you played. So either your friend has a bug in his system or he forgot he actually bought the game only 6 days before you.

Game is old only 537 days (with 3 days headstart), so he can’t have more then that. So if you have 512 days on your account you start playing 25 days after release of gw2, your fried couldn’t play 2 months before you, game wasn’t released then.
